New update. In May 2019, Edgewell Personal Care, the owner of the Schick brand of shaving products, announced plans to purchase Harry's for $1.4 billion. The merger was intended to finalise by the end of the first quarter of 2020. On February 3, 2020, the Federal Trade Commission sued Edgewell to block the merger, stating that bringing Schick and Harry's together could hurt competition and Edgewell backed away from the deal. OK, that just means that Harry's is "Harry's" NOT 'Shick - Harry's'.... AND, I can find NO info on a merger between Harry's and Gillette either. Besides, with the logic of that argument, Gillette would also fall into the "...Too large of a monopoly"; or whatever, and would hurt competition as well. TL Ok, I did a little research. I thought the sale had gone thru. It did not. Harry's is still owned by its founders and shareholder. Want to own Harry's? It's currently selling for 5.98 cents a share. That's down 70% from this time last year. Not a good-looking investment. My humble opinion. I am not a stock expert and don't shave often. They make EXCELLENT blades. Mine last over a month; but, I don't shave every day. They are; however, the BEST blades I've EVER shaved with. My face stays smooth for almost a full day and half.
