How is it possible that nobody noticed, and even rejected warnings from parents, that the new school was going to be too small until after it was built.
The town now needs another new school, twice as big as the new one by 2033.

Council left with £69m bill after too small school blunder
The brand new £18m Dargavel Primary should have been able to accommodate 1,100 pupils, but due to an “error” by officials, the new building can only hold 430 kids.

What made this hugely embarrassing for the council, was that parents had been warning for some time that the new building was not going to be big enough, and those concerns were repeatedly rejected.

Renfrewshire council announced in February that now expected 1,500 children to need to use the school by 2033 and that would require a new building with capacity for around 800 pupils.

Yep...
...spokesperson Alistair Carmichael accusing Mr Sunak of putting politicians into his cabinet who "think they are above the rules" and who "have taken the British people for fools".
They've been doing that for the past 30 years at least.

Well Boris certainly thought that he was above the rules.

Johnson referred to police over new allegations of lockdown breaches.

TransPennine Express comes under government control

The troubled train operator TransPennine Express (TPE) has come under government control.

As of Sunday, services are running under the name TransPennine Trains, which is part of the Department for Transport's Operator of Last Resort.
Only in Britain could a nationalisation downgrade 'express trains' to just plain trains.

I suppose that, for a change, it is at least honest, and it'll save on the paint job.

Before I go to bed.

I feel a bit more sympathy or comfort with prince Harry than I did before.

But next also investigative journalism, for not any privacy, and you could be still only making it Laws for that of asking (or digging).

Only that rules could be telling of themselves for still only making.

Right should be still not any wrong for that of telling.

Oh, what a society.

Meant compassion, but here I was just too harsh, so apologies.

And his resignation honours list has a lot to be desired by the sound of things.

Key allies rewarded in Johnson resignation honours list.

Some have been waiting for this, Nicola goes down.

Nicola Sturgeon arrested: Former first minister of Scotland taken into custody over finance scandal.

The former first minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, has been sensationally arrested as part of an investigation into her political party’s finances.

Ms Sturgeon, 52, resigned as Scotland’s leader in March, having claimed a month earlier that she was simply no longer able to give the job her full energy.

“Though I know it will be tempting to see it as such, this decision is not a reaction to short-term pressures. This decision comes from a deeper and longer term assessment,” she told the public in February.

“Giving absolutely everything of yourself to this job is the only way to do it. But in truth, that can only be done by anyone for so long. For me, it is now in danger of becoming too long.”

Having spent more than eight years in power, Ms Sturgeon was the longest-serving first minister in Scotland’s history.

However the context of her exit wasn’t as innocuous as she made it sound. It came against a backdrop of multiple controversies.

She had sparked a political backlash by trying to implement a bill concerning gender identification, and her party’s fortunes had stalled, along with the push for its primary goal: another referendum to seek independence from the United Kingdom.

Furthermore Ms Sturgeon and her husband were both operating in the shadow of Operation Branchform, a longrunning police investigation, launched 2021, into possible fundraising fraud in the Scottish National Party.....

I've just been diving into a Wikipedia wormhole, starting somewhere in the region of Terry Pratchett as one does.....
I came across a character who's name may be so aptly applied to a former (and somewhat disgraced) Prime Minister. The character's real name is "Bergholt Stuttley Johnson", but this may be suitably and unsubtly be altered to B***** Stupid Johnson, now who am I thinking about? (No prizes for getting the right answer.)

By watching the most recent video, I do not think the last party was as bad as the previous one.

It should be overlooked or forgotten in my opinion.

Unfortunately a visa cancellation letter was issued to Dr Stuijfzand in error. We have issued a retraction, and we apologise for any inconvenience this has caused him and his family.

Well don't think about coming down here Nigel as we already have more enough far right wingnuts as it is to suit us (anyone want our Scotty Morison? I didn't think so)..

Farage Says 'The Establishment' Is Pushing Him out Of The UK And Twitter Has Thoughts.

And you can't blame the "establishment" just because banks don't like doing business with dodgy wack jobs.
