Jacob Rees Mogg leaves the cabinet, well that's today's bit of good (UK political) news. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Yes, and the bad news is that Michael Gove is back. "I don't believe Sunak has the answers to this crisis... he helped cause it," Ashworth adds. That's my view as well. |

What a refreshingly honest admission and an instant genuine apology from the host: Who's that UK girl?... Now... Why can't our politicians be so genuinely honest? Stay safe folks! Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Rishi Sunak and family return to No 10 flat Many PMs of recent years - especially those with children - have lived in the larger flat above No 11, officially designated for the chancellor. And it'll keep him well away from that notorious wallpaper... |

And it'll keep him well away from that notorious wallpaper... More to the point, it will keep his puppy away from said wall paper....... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

They're certainly a gymnastic bunch arn't they? Sunak makes Parliament debut as prime minister and axes more Truss policies. |

Very unseemly: No evidence of bullying in fracking vote, Commons speaker says wrote: ... Sir Lindsay Hoyle said the atmosphere was "tense" but there was no evidence of "undue influence" on MPs... Very good for the Climate Minister to bring some sense back into the politics. Shameful that the vote was under a dark pall of dire threats of being kicked out of the Conservative Party... That's no way to run a democratic government. All in the UK! And our climate be damned. Back in the 70's, we were the Sick Man of Europe. Now, we're Europe's No 1 clown. We enjoy breaking rules |

Sounds so much like our last right wing government. Britain's asylum system is broken after years of political neglect. Thousands are caught in the middle. |

Short-termism and spineless politics has cost us all dearly for our energy: Why high UK energy bills were decades in the making wrote: In a year of soaring electricity bills and fears of blackouts, energy has become the subject of a bitter blame game... Unfortunately all too true and disastrously costly. Including for funding Putin's war against Ukraine and the rest of the world. How do we make our politics more intelligent and useful? Sadly a number of the politicians you name are no longer at the right altitude in government otherwise one could suggest that they take a seated ride down "Hovis Hill" on a bike without a saddle. "The first and most important one was 'getting rid of the green crap'," he said. The crude phrase, splashed on the front page of the Sun newspaper, was the "PM's solution to soaring energy prices" in 2013...Remember that was the same PM who went to the Arctic and urged us to "hug a husky" when he was campaigning for election, three years earlier. You can't trust a thing that a politician says, unless he or she says it again after the polls have closed. |

Thursday's "reset" budget just got a whole lot harder. Mould in flat caused boy's death, coroner rules Ms Kearsley [coroner] said in September 2020 the community midwife completed a special circumstances form to children's services highlighting concerns about the mould and potential impact on Awaab's health.Live reporting talks of antiquated, poorly-maintained, public housing and antiquated technology blocking communications between separate departments of the NHS, let alone the wider public sector. Shades of Grenfell Tower. "The case should be a defining moment for the housing sector". |

Update. we allowed a legal disrepair process, widely used in the housing sector, to get in the way of promptly tackling the mould."The law's the law right? Housing boss sacked |

"Deputy heads will roll", as is often said about the BBC. They've found their scapegoat, and they can punt the issue into the long grass again. But what will they do about the deliberate political choices of austerity, which exaggerated the problem in the first place? |

Palace race incident was abuse, says charity boss What catches my interest is the apparent mis-match between the late Queen's public role as Head of the Commonwealth, and her private role as head of the family and household. That might explain a lot - the first seems not to have spilled over into the second. |
