Message 2136579 - Posted: 1 Jun 2024, 14:07:32 UTC - in response to Message 2136578.

A question (for Gary?)
With Trump having been found guilty on 34 counts, and showing no signs of "repentance" would it be normal for the trial judge to hand down 34 consecutive 1 year terms of imprisonment, or 1 longer term (say 5 years), or what? This of course presupposes that the judge decides a prison term is in order, and not just a very large fine or other non-custodial sentence.

My guess is because of his lack of a prior criminal record any sentence will be concurrent. However there is the option to make them consecutive but suspend most of it for probation. Violate probation, go back to jail.

I also don't know if the gag order is still in effect, but the attempts to dox the jury are disgusting which speaks to the character of his supporters.

It is as far as is known... Judge Merchan did not lift it after the jury ruled, and the trial has not concluded as sentence has not been pronounced.

The gag order is still in effect and as Donny keeps on flapping his gums a jail sentence becomes more likely.

From one of Trump's recent interviews, I got the impression he is deliberately ignoring gag orders or doing nothing to avoid prison. It seems as if he is actually provoking the judges to demonstrate his supporters how unfairly courts are mistreating him, the president, in rigged trials. It seems to be a building block of his campaign.

Two steam locomotives are racing towards each other.

The convict thrives on conflict and feeds off ignorance. I doubt his base realizes he has lost his first and fourth amendment rights with his conviction. It is a shame that he isn't in a state that still uses chain gangs.

His base will riot. Lives will be lost. The country will stand. Hundreds will spend decades in cages. What a total waste for want of education.

What rights has the convicted already lost? I'm not familiar with the constitution and its amendments.

The 1st amendment denies state actors to limit free speech, religion, free press, etc.
The 4th amendment denies state actors unreasonable searches and seizures of houses, private property, ...

I wonder how the conviction restricts any of his rights to campaign, to give public political speeches, to spend his own money for campaigning, to work in and with support organizations or trusts which he uses to collect supporter's money? I feel that without a prison sentence he will not be hindered in any way.

And now the UK joins in, only a mere GBP300k, but he's owes that to a really "interesting" organisation:

Maybe he can, but it may also leave him open for more litigation as his gag gets a little lighter.

There's absolutely no faith in a 2nd delusional Donny term.

Alarm bells have been sounded that if Trump wins the presidency it could see the global economy blow up and spell bad things for US democracy.

A second Donald Trump presidency could be “disastrous” for the US economy with the impacts reverberating around the world, including in Australia.

Fears are mounting of a potential trade war, punishing tariffs, undue influence on the US central bank, ballooning government debt, further inflation and chilling consequences for climate change – as experts sound alarm bells about the prospect of Trump coming back into power.

Trump has not been modest about his achievements during his first presidency, claiming in a Time Magazine interview that he had “the greatest economy in history” while he was in charge of the US.

He has declared another shot at the presidency would give him the chance to “rebuild the greatest economy in history”.

But experts aren’t convinced and there are fears that Trump in power would be “damaging” not only for the global economy but also democracy..........

Doesn't this prison sentence reinforce his martyr image? What purpose do such ultra-short prison sentences (few months) serve anyway? To tarnish reputations? Rudy appears to have been significantly more tormented and taken out of dirty games by a court case that led to his bankruptcy.

The tarnish is an incredible long list of things which are lifetime prohibited. No professional licenses. No welfare. No fourth amendment right. Can't associate with other convicts. It is an impressive list of prohibitions.

Donny just loves lying as the far right cooks up plans to steal power and keep it.

"I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they're saying and some of the things they're saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them."

What do Americans Think About Project 2025?

Well if they don't know about it then they'd better learn quickly.

It looks like Donny's, "I know nothing about it", Project 2025 could be in trouble and may pay the cost.

Project 2025 Reported to IRS Over 'Violations'.

TikTokers are urging people to report the conservative think tank behind Project 2025 to the Internal Revenue Service for allegedly violating the rules of its tax-exempt status.

Project 2025 is spearheaded by The Heritage Foundation with input from dozens of conservative-leaning groups and ex-officials from former president Donald Trump's administration. It has published a 900-page road map for a new Republican administration that includes plans to overhaul the federal government and oust thousands of government workers so that loyalists can be installed in their place.

Some TikTok creators have suggested that publishing the document, as well as engaging in political activity, is a violation of the IRS code for tax-exempt organizations.......

Well the world is crashing down on Donny's slimy little drunken buddy, that Rudolf BTW, as a Federal judge kicks his feet out from under him.

Giuliani Could Lose Homes After Judge's Ruling.

Former Donald Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani may soon see his assets liquidated following a decision from a federal bankruptcy judge in New York.

Judge Sean Lane dismissed Giuliani's bankruptcy petition on Friday, paving the way for creditors to collect debts by pursing asset seizures and foreclosures, which could potentially include his homes......
