" Attorney General Merrick Garland reminded U.S. Department of Justice officials that extra steps are required before action can be taken in politically sensitive cases during the fall election season... Oh not during the fall election season! Gosh, that would be like wearing white after Labour Day. Anyone bother to nudge him and remind him that the presidency isn't on the ticket? Trump is most likely going to announce candidacy right after it, and then Garland's excuse will be "... extra steps are required before action can be taken against a presidential candidate" and then "extra steps are required before action can be taken in politically sensitive cases during the Presidential election season" and then "no steps can be taken because President Trump fired my milquetoast arse..."
