They claim to be religion, Rump does not claim to be a religion. Both claim to genuinely believe things wholly unsubstantiated by any evidence and want donations to further this belief. If religion gets away with this without it being called "lying" or made illegal, so does everyone else. Which one is superior? Constitution wrote: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion Constitution wrote: The Congress shall have power to regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes. Doesn't make both lying or not lying, but it can make one legal and the other illegal. But if you want a better example, "Red Bull gives you wings." I believe they can say it because it is so obviously false that no one would rely on it to make a purchase decision. But saying the item is 1 ounce but it is only 0.5 ounces, that is legally actionable. However, a religion selling to its own adherents some "essential to some ritual" item and saying it is 1 ounce but it is really 0.5 ounces would not be actionable.
