Message 2090116 - Posted: 12 Dec 2021, 23:12:04 UTC - in response to Message 2090109.

They claim to be religion, Rump does not claim to be a religion.

Both claim to genuinely believe things wholly unsubstantiated by any evidence and want donations to further this belief. If religion gets away with this without it being called "lying" or made illegal, so does everyone else.

Which one is superior?
Constitution wrote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion
Constitution wrote:
The Congress shall have power to regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes.

Doesn't make both lying or not lying, but it can make one legal and the other illegal.

But if you want a better example, "Red Bull gives you wings." I believe they can say it because it is so obviously false that no one would rely on it to make a purchase decision. But saying the item is 1 ounce but it is only 0.5 ounces, that is legally actionable.

However, a religion selling to its own adherents some "essential to some ritual" item and saying it is 1 ounce but it is really 0.5 ounces would not be actionable. Congress can't regulate that the religion use the same measures as everyone else.

Don't you just love the BS the Federalist Society foists on the USA?

It looks like not that many want to hear the Donny and Bill show in Texas either.

Trump Heads to Texas For History Tour With Hundreds of Tickets Unsold.

Meanwhile the critical question has been asked.

Appeals court weighs House push to obtain Trump's financial records.

The judge,

"The other part that worries me, in addition to the separation-of-powers concerns, is whether that's really consistent with the rule of law and the peaceful and full complete transfer of power, that someone who used to be a private person becomes the president and returns to a private person is very fundamental in our constitutional system. And yet somehow now you say if a subpoena comes to him, in his post presidency, and the legislature establishes a reason for it ... we should still say that they can't get it from him, and I'm trying to understand why that is, what makes him so different or special that he gets this kind of accommodation that other people in private life don't."

Tax returns
Judge scraps Trump lawsuit to shield tax returns from Congress
A federal judge has rejected former President Donald Trump’s bid to block congressional Democrats from obtaining his tax returns.
Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump appointee to federal district court in Washington, said Trump was “wrong on the law” and that Congress is due “great deference” in its inquiries.
“Even the special solicitude accorded former Presidents does not alter the outcome,” McFadden wrote in a 45-page ruling. “The Court will therefore dismiss this case.”

Voter fraud, republicans again.
3 residents of The Villages arrested for casting multiple votes in 2020 election
SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – Three residents of The Villages have recently been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into voter fraud, court records show.

Jay Ketcik, Joan Halstead and John Rider are each charged with casting more than one ballot in an election, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

The probe into the allegations of voting irregularities was initiated by the office of Sumter County Supervisor of Elections Bill Keen, according to prosecutors. Keen declined to comment about the cases, citing the ongoing investigation.

Well those Donny and Bill shows are still not pulling in the fans, I wonder why?

Meanwhile Donny may soon be in more trouble.

The January 6 committee is toying with asking the DOJ to prosecute Trump for obstruction of Congress.

Is he really that stupid?

Trump plans news conference on January 6, anniversary of deadly U.S. Capitol riot.

Anybody that claims "only I can solve it" is indeed that stupid. Dunning Krueger on steroids.

Pay grade = what salary the job attracts
Salary = what they were actually paid

and in many cases they are not the same.....
