Trump wasn't last.
C-SPAN - Presidential historians survey 2021

Sad. Very sad.
And for clarity, "sad very sad" is something DJT would say.

Is that a non-last-place only by 'default' because noone has heard of those last three names?

(Franklin Pierce, Andrew Johnson, James Buchanan.)

Even I know that Pierce and Buchanan were the last two presidents before the civil war and their policies, if they did not inflame the situation, they did nothing to stop it happening.
And Johnson was Lincoln's VP and successor, and more famously he was impeached.

And there you have nearly all the facts that the academics use to say they were the worse three presidents.

It looks like Donny is setting himself up for another courtroom loss.

Trump suing Facebook, Twitter and Google, accusing them of violating First Amendment.

Legal experts are, it’s fair to say, sceptical of Mr Trump’s chances here.

One problem: courts in the United States have repeatedly held that social media platforms are not state actors. One such judgment was issued just a couple of weeks ago.

“The First Amendment does not apply to non-governmental actors. Full stop,” said Steve Vladeck, a professor of constitutional law at the University of Texas.

“The ‘state action’ doctrine is about as firmly embedded a principle of constitutional law as there is. To overturn it would have incredibly broad consequences – many of which the current Supreme Court would be loath to embrace.”

NBC legal analyst Barb McQuade, a professor at Michigan Law School, said “Trump and his lawyers need to read the first line of the First Amendment”, which specifies that “Congress shall make no law” restricting the freedom of speech.

Former federal and state prosecutor Elie Honig, now a CNN legal analyst, made the same point.

“The very first word of the First Amendment is ‘Congress’. That means the First Amendment applies to governmental actors, not private companies,” said Mr Honig.

Harvard University law professor Laurence Tribe said Mr Trump “has the First Amendment argument backwards”.

“Facebook and Twitter themselves have a First Amendment right to decide what speech their platforms amplify – a right that includes excluding speakers who incite violence,” he said.

David Greene, a First Amendment professor at the University of South Florida, suggested the lawsuits would fail.

“All of these arguments have been raised, and have been rejected, in other cases. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they will lose this time. But lots of other cases, with frankly better facts, have lost,” said Prof Greene.

Hilariously, he already proved that no "First Amendment" restriction against his writings exists by setting up his own blog in which he could publish whatever he liked without any restrictions. Oh, except that it sucked and almost no one read it so he cancelled it.

Maybe he should sue people under First Amendment grounds who didn't read his blog because it was terrible. Hey, that and social media banning him both limited the number of people that read his drivel, so they are both equally valid First Amendment cases. :^p

Well little Donny has finally found something else to talk about other than whinging about rigged elections and witch hunts, but why?

Trump demands to know which Capitol Police officer killed rioter Ashli Babbitt.

Instead of continually complaining, clutching at straws and stirring up the stupid mob with stupid B.S. Donny should be working on actual policies that achieve a positive (not negative) aim if he ever wants to defile the White House again.

Signs that the courts are kicking back at Trumps lawyers for false election claims.
‘This is really fantastical’: Federal judge blasts pro-Trump attorneys, hints at sanctions

Also in MI. State Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) last week confirmed her office has opened a case exploring the activities of individuals who have been raising money by circulating false claims that the election results in Antrim County were manipulated, the Michigan State Police are involved in the case.

Last month Rudolph W. Giuliani was suspended from practicing in New York and then in P.C.

In Wisconsin, Gov. Tony Evers (D) has asked a federal judge to order Trump and three of his attorneys to pay the state’s attorneys’ fees in a case the former president filed in December unsuccessfully challenging President Biden’s win there.

And in Ga. District Attorney Fani Willis launched a criminal investigation which is still ongoing into Trump's call to State officials trying to persuade them to reverse the election.

In Arizona, Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D) wrote a letter to Attorney General Mark Brnovich (R) last week, asking that his office open an investigation into whether Trump and allies — including Giuliani and Arizona GOP Chairwoman Kelli Ward — might have violated a state law that makes it illegal to knowingly interfere with an election officer.

Meanwhile, a series of $1.3 billion defamation suits filed by Dominion Voting Systems against Giuliani, Powell and MyPillow chief executive Mike Lindell are moving through the civil courts in several States.

A very desperate vote:

Texas Democrats flee state to block Republican voting law
wrote:
Democratic politicians in Texas have left their state en masse in an effort to prevent Republicans there from passing a law to tighten voting rules.

The move will temporarily paralyse the state's House of Representatives, which requires at least two-thirds of the 150 members be present for a vote. At least 50 House Democrats boarded two private jets from Austin to Washington DC on Monday.

The move comes amid a wave of voting restrictions in Republican-led states. Republicans argue the measures are essential for election security but Democrats see them as an attack on the right to vote.

The bill in Texas would ban 24-hour polling places and expand the authority of partisan poll watchers. A first vote is planned later this week.

The House lawmakers took off on Monday afternoon. When they landed in Washington DC, the Democrats said they would not return until the 30-day special session had ended next month...

That is a desperately long way to go to vote with your feet...

What happened to good reasoned debate and good civic sense and fair play?

Is that all a sad portent of the dire state of politics in the USA??

Nope.

That is all just childishly stupid blind vandalism.

Out of spite or worse, are the Republicans hell bent on sinking their own ship to damn themselves and the rest of the USA, all just to spite the Democrats?

Crazy.

Well... That gives a good political "yes-and-no"! There is more to those comparisons to be considered, such as proportions...

Might it just simply be that Mitch is a blindly ferociously political fiend who has lost touch with the people of the country?

Hence, the people and the country may as well go get trashed and damned as far as Mitch is concerned...

Well, it's the U.S .
New book maybe: "The suicide of a Nation".
Nuff said.

Of course.
Why you do you think, on the right, politicians and pundits that are likely vaccinated are bad-mouthing in front of constituents? They want more deaths, to make our darling Joe look bad.

Believe it or not.

‘Leaked’ Kremlin documents suggest Vladimir Putin personally authorised operation to help Donald Trump win in 2016.

And the original.

Kremlin papers appear to show Putin’s plot to put Trump in White House.

The report – “No 32-04 \ vd” – is classified as secret. It says Trump is the “most promising candidate” from the Kremlin’s point of view. The word in Russian is perspektivny.

There is a brief psychological assessment of Trump, who is described as an “impulsive, mentally unstable and unbalanced individual who suffers from an inferiority complex”.

There is also apparent confirmation that the Kremlin possesses kompromat, or potentially compromising material, on the future president, collected – the document says – from Trump’s earlier “non-official visits to Russian Federation territory”.

The paper refers to “certain events” that happened during Trump’s trips to Moscow. Security council members are invited to find details in appendix five, at paragraph five, the document states. It is unclear what the appendix contains.

“It is acutely necessary to use all possible force to facilitate his [Trump’s] election to the post of US president,” the paper says.

Interesting. Trying to think of rebuttals, like she has an axe to grind, one would think it would be against Barry, Or Allen. Not Allen's noss. Yes or no?
