Well it is different to who the others are blaming I guess, but then I found this part interesting. Hurley’s argument calls to mind the infamous “the devil made me do it” defense, although you might argue the devil has nothing on the prolific manipulators at Fox News. And while there is certainly an element of believability to the harmful nature of persistent rightwing propaganda effectively manipulating a person’s ability to distinguish fact from reality – I’ve written here and in my newsletter about something I only half-jokingly refer to as “Fox News brain cancer”, something like a shared psychotic disorder that slowly sucks the life out of people and ruins their ability to connect with their families – it remains to be seen whether or not there is any legal merit to such a claim. The husband suspected of killing missing Colorado mother Suzanne Morphew has been charged with forging her vote for Donald Trump five months after she vanished. Barry Morphew was arrested last week and charged with murdering 49-year-old Suzanne Morphew, who vanished near their southwestern Colorado home on Mother’s Day last year. On the day she vanished a co-worker noticed a “bad” chlorine smell in a room the landscaper was staying in. Morphew, 53, has been charged with forgery of a mail-in ballot he allegedly submitted in his wife’s name in last November’s presidential election. Voting officials in Chaffee County, 240km from Denver, alerted police last October that they had received a ballot in the name of Suzanne Morphew, even though she was reported as missing. The ballot was unsigned, but listed Barry Morphew as a witness. Prior to his arrest on suspicion of murder, Morphew allegedly told an FBI officer he knew his wife would have voted for Trump and he “wanted Trump to win” and “figured all these other guys are cheating”.....
