Message 2060989 - Posted: 9 Nov 2020, 9:47:41 UTC - in response to Message 2060960.

Here is a list of the potential Trump prosecutions and lawsuits I have found.

Tax fraud: New York's Attorney-General is investigating whether Donald Trump and his company committed tax fraud. The average prison sentence for tax evasion is three to five years. The maximum fine is $US250,000 ($343,000) for individuals and $US500,000 ($686,000) for corporations.

Obstruction of justice: The Mueller report identified 10 potential cases of obstruction of justice, but said a sitting president could not be indicted for a federal crime. The maximum jail term for the offence is five years.

Misuse of funds: Washington, DC, alleges the Trump inaugural committee violated the Nonprofit Act by knowingly overpaying for services at the Trump hotel in the capital.

Defamation: Summer Zervos, a contestant on The Apprentice alleges Trump defamed her by denying her allegations that he sexually assaulted her in 2007.

Defamation: E. Jean Carroll, an advice columnist, alleges Trump defamed her by denying her allegations of rape.

Compensation: Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen is suing the Trump organisation for nearly $2 million in legal fees.

Alleged marketing scam: A group of plaintiffs allege Trump and his children misled people into investing in sham business opportunities.

Inheritance dispute: A case brought by Trump's niece Mary Trump, who published a book criticising the President, alleges she was cheated out of her inheritance by the Trump family.

Damages: Orestes Fintiklis and his fund, Ithaca Capital Investments, which took control of property from Trump International Hotels Management in 2018, is seeking $15 million in damages.

As well as a lot of subcontractors that want to be paid for work done.

But Donny will be broke by the time they get him into court and most likely on his 7th bankruptcy (if he hasn't already fled the country). ;-)

(if he hasn't already fled the country)

If indeed he can afford the fuel for which ever means he decides to flee the country (shoe leather included as fuel).

James, a lifelong Republican who voted for Joe Biden, has been speaking to the BBC. This was his first time voting for a Democrat. Here's what he had to say:

Biden is a seasoned politician who has all sorts of personal connections in the Senate. Even if the Senate remains in Republican hands, I believe that Biden as president will be able to reach across the aisle and get things done.
This is the first time I've ever voted for a Democrat for president. The very first time.
I'm looking forward to Trump being gone so I can become a Republican again.
I fear that Trump will set himself up with his own TV network. Certainly a running commentary for the next four years as he seeks to run for president again in 2024.
He will continue for the next four years to spout this nonsense about massive fraud and there's no evidence of massive fraud.
It's just amazing to me the kind of stuff he says.
How many more James out there?

That quote come from interviews with a BBC audience panel: US election results: Five US voters who changed the race.

James is #5: I was more interested in #2, Gabriel.

Why did so many Hispanic voters come out for Trump?

Prior to the 2016 election, I was a far-left Democrat. Beyond being a Democrat, I was a communist until I learned what the ideology really meant. I had my own "walk away" moment from thinking that way and the Trump campaign did a great job with actual outreach to the minority community. It seems like the Republican Party has gone back to its roots, where it's not about that country club mentality. Lincoln was our first Republican president and he helped give people rights in the United States. The current president and administration has created a bigger tent for the Republican Party, and Trump was able to convey that message.
I've been struck throughout the election coverage by the way (some) Americans spit out the word 'socialist' with visceral hatred. I think it goes right back to the McCarthyite era. (US readers, please chip in)

I would have been most interested to have heard more details of Gabriel's conversion. What was his understanding of the definition and meaning of the word "communist" during his far-left Democrat period? What is his new understanding of the 'real meaning'? Who taught him that new meaning, and in what context?

Here in the UK, I think there are very few people who openly identify as communists. That word has been - may I say 'tainted'? - by being identified with the hard central control exercised by the regime in the USSR and its satellites. The alternative viewpoint - "From each according to their resources, to each according to their needs" - has been all-but-forgotten, despite it being close to the Christian viewpoint expressed in the New Testament.

A case in point is the divergent medical systems in our two countries. Our NHS probably falls within the definition of 'socialist', and I believe triggers the same response in US readers as other uses of that word (confirmation or contradiction, please?). But to us, it's the equivalent of 'motherhood and apple pie'. There when you need it, free at the point of use, funded from the collectivised resources (taxes) of all citizens, according to their varying point on the income scale over the years. What's not to like, as we would say? Sure, it's got its cumbersome bureaucratic weaknesses, and the occasional bad apple creeps into the workforce - but in general we prefer it to the profit-driven alternative.

'ere we go, obstruction from day 1.
Pressure mounts on federal agency to affirm Biden victory
Until the General Services Administration determines Biden is the president-elect, his transition team cannot access government funds or communicate with federal agencies.

“We urge the Trump administration to immediately begin the post-election transition process and the Biden team to take full advantage of the resources available under the Presidential Transition Act,” they wrote.

The letter raises the pressure on the General Services Administration, whose administrator, Emily Murphy, has resisted affirming that Biden won the election. In a statement released Saturday, the agency said, "an ascertainment has not yet been made. GSA and its Administrator will continue to abide by, and fulfill, all requirements under the law.” The agency did not comment further on Sunday.

Until Murphy ascertains that Biden is the president-elect, the Biden transition cannot access government funds or communicate with the federal agencies they will be staffing. Experts say that the delay could hinder the Biden effort. "Every day counts in a transition, this year more than any transition since 1932,” said David Marchick, the director of the Center for Presidential Transition.

I seem to remember King Donald saying the market would tank if Biden won. Better check your 401(k) this morning.

You have to give Donny a bit of credit as he sure knows how to hold a COVID Super Spreader events with his latest being his losing party at the white structure on election night that is now reported to have infected Mark Meadows, Ben Carson and at least 5 other officials according to the latest reports (no names have yet been attached to those 5) while another has been shown that revolving door.

Trump fires Secretary of Defense Mark Esper.

Simply sadly incredible, way beyond any possible belief.

And that second clip highlights the totally implausible setting for a completely implausible show. Really, those legal stooges are wearing suits?!!! How much are they being paid for that staged stage show??!!

Hopefully, such Trump-esq silliness will not bring down the the legal system along with Trump's demise...

It now continues as I have predicted for four years. Criminal AG Barr steps in to investigate the election in Pennsylvania, despite no evidence at all about anything wrong.

The same administration investigated Hillary Clinton for two years with no result. (She was also questioned for 11 hours straight about Benghazi.) As well, Barack Obama and his administration were investigated regarding allegations that they spied on the Trump campaign. Again, this came to nothing and no evidence was found.

I don't doubt that will also be the result of this investigation.

And if it isn't, the Biden team has about twice as many lawyers plus the ACLU to oppose this. Oh, they also have a very feisty ally in the Pennsylvania Attorney General:

Edited to add:

Trump campaign sues to block certification of Biden win in Pennsylvania

... which is highly unlikely to work because...

Edward Foley, who specializes in election law at the Moritz College of Law at the Ohio State University, said the Pennsylvania legislature couldn’t stop the certification of the vote without changing the law.

“To do that, they would have to attempt to amend the state statute and that is going to be vetoed” by Pennsylvania’s Democratic governor, said Foley.

Yep, makes one wonder how intelligent people ignore/forget history.
Ask the people of Northern Ireland what happens when governments & law enforcement lose control.
Hmm...
...wait...
...Did I just call politicians intelligent?

Yes and methinks FBI and CIA are next for their failures to provide dirt on Biden.

In four years I expect that the Joe Biden thread will be just as long and dissatisfied with the results of his four years in office and still be waiting for the end of the Covid 19 pandemic.

While #BlubberBoy has himself locked away in the white building's bunker trying to tweet people into believing his falsehoods 1 cases of election fraud has been shot down by the so called witness himself.

US postal worker and vote ‘whistle-blower’ recants allegations.

A worker with the United States Postal Service (USPS) in Pennsylvania who went public with allegations of ballot tampering and signed an affidavit, has retracted his statement, according to the House Oversight Committee.

On November 6, Richard Hopkins told a right-wing activist website that he had witnessed his supervisor talking about backdating ballots and was later contacted by USPS investigators.

But the investigators informed committee staff on Tuesday evening that Hopkins had recanted his allegations and would not explain why he had signed the false affidavit.

Well, we don't want him.
In October, Mr Trump even speculated that, if he lost the election he would feel so terrible that "maybe I'll have to leave the country, I don't know".
