Well it isn't over just yet... Joe Biden has a very narrow path to a very slim victory: he's currently leading in Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin and Michigan by razor-thin margins, and with a comfortable lead in Maine. If he captures all five of these states, he will reach 270 electoral college votes , where 270 are required. The votes being counted right now are mail-in/absentee which are predominantly Democratic, so he may keep those leads. Of course, Trump's campaign is trying to get the counts stopped but I have no idea why as then Biden would instantly be the victor as he's ahead! Biden also leads the total vote count by 2.8 million. If Trump wins it will be another electoral college "victory"... 2016 all over again. Edit: Maine appears to have been called for Biden so he needs the other four states. And I corrected my count above... Joe will get exactly 270 electoral college votes if he wins all four remaining battlegrounds. Thus, one "faithless elector" could doom his presidency.

I think I've changed my mind - I think it's quite clever. The words are quite unexceptional - nobody would want forged ballot papers to be dumped from an unmarked truck round the back of the counting centre, at four in the morning. But I bet there are some high-rises in New York City built with cheaper, weaker cement than the architect specified - dumped out of an unmarked truck, round the back of the building site, at four in the morning. And I think I know someone who could think like that, and who has friends who could organise a scam like that. I don't think it would or could happen: ballot papers should be escorted, tracked, and counted better than sacks of cement. But the dog-whistle has spoken, and planted the idea that legitimate votes, properly made in good time and entrusted to the mail, are equivalent to those sacks of forgeries. A lot of voters will hear that dog-whistle, and put pressure on lawyers and courts to call an early end to counting. I hope they can withstand it. |

But I bet there are some high-rises in New York City built with cheaper, weaker cement than the architect specified - dumped out of an unmarked truck, round the back of the building site, at four in the morning. And I think I know someone who could think like that, and who has friends who could organise a scam like that. Many New Yorkers would also know that a similar scam happened during the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge... the wire contractor was changed from the bridge's designer to another by way of political maneuvering. He then ran a scam where shipments of tested and certified wire being shipped to the site were intercepted, and poor-quality rejected wire was substituted. By the time this was discovered, the bad wire was already woven into the bridge cables and could not be removed. It's estimated they are half the strength they were planned for because of this (4x over maximum capacity instead of 8x so still plenty of leeway.) This is one of the reasons semis and buses are prohibited on the bridge. Edit: Wisconsin has flipped for Biden (went for Trump in 2016.) He needs three more. Edit2: Michigan has also flipped for Biden (and also went for Trump in 2016.) Two more...

I had to show an ID to VOTE. IOWs PROOF I'm willing to give fingerprints to VOTE at Polling Station. Time fO INTEGRITY of VOTE. My prints have been in FBI database fO 'bout 50 Years. Sending in a BALLOT thru Mail with NO PROOF is FRAUGHT with....... RUBEWorld KNOWs Yep  May we All have a METAMORPHOSIS. REASON. GOoD JUDGEMENT and LOVE and ORDER!!!!!

That type of very vague public announcement from Trump sounds all-too-similar to the sort of vague rallying cry as broadcast from terrorist leaders, in the hope that disenfranchised loners with nothing to lose gain 'inspiration' from those vague words to perpetrate some random act of stupidity in their name... Could the bags of cement allegory be interpreted as incitement to commit criminal acts against the vote counting? Many New Yorkers would also know that a similar scam happened during the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge... Indeed, greedy crimes do have consequences that others have to pay for... ... Sending in a BALLOT thru Mail... In a real democracy, ALL votes must be counted, fairly. Trump has offered NO (zero, zilch) evidence of voter fraud. The only votes comments from Trump have been nothing but random Fake News to allow him to squirm in any and all directions! Mmmmm, did he try to fake his home address for the sake of trying to vote twice to try to game some system or to demonstrate voting fraud? Regardless of his motives for the Mar-el-Largo address spoof silliness, that one quite rightly didn't work! So: Where is there any evidence? Not looking good for Trump ... As of the time of posting: That's a good jump for Biden from 243 to now 253 units on the 'Electoral College' count. However, the race is not done yet... There's still reality to unfold from that live update: The BBC has been projecting results based on its own data. The latest estimates in the six remaining states that are yet to be projected are: With those guesses, there's only Alaska that looks to be a dead certainty for Trump. Some outlets are already calling Arizona for Biden. The only other state he currently leads in, which will put him to exactly 270, is Nevada. Edit: If it does come down to just Nevada, the outcome may not be decided conclusively and finally for five more days as Nevada law allows one week for delivery of all mail-in ballots, as long as they are postmarked on the day of the election Nov. 3rd.

Joe Biden has even taken an exceedingly narrow lead (currently 984 votes) in Georgia. The count continues. So far, 63% of all ballots cast in this election were mail-in/absentee/drop box, with only 37% being traditional in-person. This is why the count is taking so long: state resources were simply overloaded in an unprecedented way. Democrat votes are disproportionately those mail-in/absentee/drop box votes for several reasons: 1) Trump cast doubt on the mail-in/absentee/drop box process for months before election day and encouraged Republican voters to use in-person voting 2) Trump made intimidating statements (ie telling the Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by") and his militia followers stated they would possibly be "monitoring" polling places while armed, which Democrat voters would want to avoid via mail-in/absentee/drop box voting 3) Because Trump has downplayed the COVID-19 pandemic (ie holding gatherings/rallies whereas Biden and other Democrats have done the opposite and held no rallies), Democrat voters would also be more likely to use mail-in/absentee/drop box voting to avoid the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19 at polling places Thus, the Democrats have slowly made gains in the states still remaining.
