A Florida suburb is facing an adorable invasion of exotic rabbits after a breeder let them loose and they started multiplying ... like rabbits.


We have plenty of the normal type around here if anyone wants those as well.

Mistreated, Neglected Dog Hasn't Been Played With In Over 10 Minutes

According to sources, a local labrador retriever is being cruelly neglected by his humans as they haven't even played with him in over 10 minutes.

In spite of repeated requests in the form of yips, barks, tail wags, and very sad puppy eyes, all members of the family are callously going about whatever humans do all day without so much as acknowledging the suffering of the poor creature. How cruel! ...

Their name is a bit of a misnomer, but they're breeding well on the mainland once again.

Their name came about because by the time Europeans landed here they were pretty much extinct on the mainland, but fossil evidence shows that they covered a fair range of the SE corner of the continent.

In my younger days wandering through the rainforests around Sydney's outskirts I could sit for ages watching and listen to these fabulous birds.

Lyrebird calls echo through the forests of south-east Australia. But the passing of these songs from one generation to another is at risk.

More native animals being returned for preservation.

Mulgaras returned to Dirk Hartog Island as modern science, traditional culture fight 'tide of extinctions'.

....Since Hartog's landing, and the introduction of grazing goats, trampling sheep, and feral cats, 11 native animals, including the mulgara, have disappeared from the island.

Since feral animals were eradicated, it is the eighth species to be reintroduced to the island, known to Malgana traditional owners as Wirruwana.

"It's quite an important one to get back to because it's a small carnivore, something they call a mesopredator," Dr Sims explains.

The mulgara's sharp teeth reveal its relation to the Tasmanian devil.

Said to suck the brains out of its prey, it will help balance the population of other small mammals on the island.....

And to think that back in the 60's-70's we use to cull these feral animals by the hundreds each year just out on the Hay Plains alone. It's just too bad that we didn't know another use for them back then.

NSW farmers are using donkeys to protect livestock from wild dogs.

A donkey supplier in regional New South Wales says there has been a 300 per cent jump in demand for the animals as farmers ramp up efforts to protect stock from wild dogs.

Eliezer Robinson has supplied donkeys to farmers for years, after finding they were fiercely defensive once bonded with a herd.

He said when multiple donkeys were on the job, they worked together to protect the herd against predators.....

They still breed wild here, but at least they're not left rotting out on the ground these days.
