This is not the usual setting for our ships of the desert.

Firefighters rescue Gina the camel from floodwaters in Moama.

Maybe it just wanted to wash the dust off.

Cheers.

A new record has been set in the world of birds, after taking a wrong turn.

Bar-tailed godwit flies 13,500km from Alaska to Tasmania, breaking world record for non-stop bird flight.

I bet that it needed a rest after that trip.

Cheers.

Meet a one-eared dog named "Van Gogh" who paints with his tongue
This dog may only have one ear, but he definitely has an eye for painting.

Van Gogh the dog is named after the artist who cut off his own ear.

The dog was rescued from a dogfighting ring in North Carolina with his ear in such bad shape that it had to be amputated.

But that hasn't gotten in the way of his career as an artist.

... For more information on adopting Van Gogh, click here.

I wonder how many stained their underwear?

Probably everyone on the charter fishing boat had some cleaning up to do when they got to shore.

Forget about sharks, how about these instead?

The terrifying moment a pod of orcas attacked a yacht and caused massive damage to the vessel has been caught on camera.

I wonder what reactions those people had.

Cheers.

Not what you want to find next to your toilet first thing of a morning. :-O

Tasmanian man discovers tiger snake in bathroom at Circular Head unit.

I hope that he wasn't in a hurry.

It just doesn't say what type of tiger snake that it was as there are 2 types down there. The Eastern which is #4 on the deadliest top 20 of snakes around the world while the Chappell Island comes in at #8.

Cheers.

Hippo’s ‘snooze bubbles’ at Texas zoo captivate internet. ‘You’re adorable Timothy’

A hippopotamus at the San Antonio Zoo has won over the internet with its adorable underwater sleeping routine.

Video shared on Tuesday, Nov. 8, by the zoo shows Timothy taking an underwater snooze as bubbles escape one of his nostrils. “Timothy’s snooze bubbles are way too cute!” the zoo said in its Facebook post.

Hunger...

And fishing boats...

And an added sense of bored 'playfulness'?

Orcas are intelligent after all...

TSA finds cat in checked baggage — you won’t believe what its owner said
The orange cat was discovered at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on Tuesday morning after an agent spotted some orange hair poking out of the zipper of the suitcase.
“Traveler said the cat belonged to someone else in his household,” Farbstein explained.

In a picture accompanying the tweet, tufts of ginger fur were poking out of the black suitcase between the gaps of the orange zipper, which had come undone.

Glad it was found. Cargo holds are not heated and some are not pressurized.

A North Dakota woman brings a raccoon into a bar. She gets probation.

I guess the raccoon was underage. I wonder what you get for a squirrel.

I bet that that was a shock.

Tasmanian devil found under couch in Hobart home, after being mistaken for dog's plush toy.

A Hobart woman and her children have taken refuge on top of their dining table as a little Tasmanian devil made its way around their suburban house, chased by the woman's husband.

About 10pm on Wednesday Kirsten Lynch heard her four-month-old golden retriever puppy give "a very strange bark".

She ran downstairs and went to pick up the puppy's Tasmanian devil-shaped stuffed toy, when the plush "toy" started running....
Cheers.

Admin has locked the Bugs, Insects, and Spiders thread per my request.

From now on please post your B, I, and S stuff here.

No need to have both threads, imho.
