I have seen the migrating Robin's get wobbly and some quite 'stoned' after eating the leftover fermented berries off the tree in front of my house.

Afterwards, they will hang out in my back yard or try to make it to the trees on the edge of the cow pasture about 200 feet behind my home here in the Dallas-Fort Worth Texas area.

Depending on the weather, the large flocks of Robin's heading Northward take about 2 days to pass through the area starting mid to late February.

The feathered wildlife around here is in full song this morning. It started off with the magpies warbling just as 1st light began, quickly followed by the laughs of Kookaburras, then the sulfur crested cockatoos, wattlebirds and willy wagtails joined in and even a male common blackbird decided to perch on the fence outside my window to add to the noise (the last is an introduced species here, but I've never seen 1 this far north before).

Anyhow it should be a good with all that singing going on.

1 lot leaves and another lot move in.

It's just a shame about the amount of the rubbish that the 1st lot left behind.

Crows may soon be Sweden’s newest litter pickers

A Swedish startup is training wild crows to pick up cigarette butts and other small pieces of litter. Their method will soon be ready for testing in the city of Södertälje.

The wild crows can be trained through a step-by-step learning process. The birds can learn to pick up litter by placing it in to a machine which dispenses food.

“They’re wild birds taking part on a voluntary basis,” said Christian Günther-Hanssen, founder of the company behind the method, Corvid Cleaning

Watch a clever cockatoo named Figaro play “golf” for a tasty reward

So the latest version of the experiment essentially created a cockatoo version of "golf." This time, the birds had to manipulate a small ball through a hole in the closed box and then use a stick to push the ball to one side of the box. This triggered a trapdoor mechanism, releasing a yummy cashew nut as a reward. Completing the task required combining tools (the ball and the stick)—a cognitive ability mostly observed in primates to date.
