An 'unfortunate' view of the general population as 'expendables'...
Entitlement issues. Those that have them should be relegated to the salt mines.

Whilst Putin pushes a "Scorched Earth" 'Special Operation' to destroy Ukraine and starve the world of rocket engines, steel, sunflower oil, and cereals...

This would be a very big "OUCH!" for the world if China is emboldened to try similar pilfering from Taiwan:

China 'must seize TSMC' if the US were to impose sanctions
wrote:
So says Chinese economist, but it wouldn't achieve much if Taiwan destroyed its fabs first

China should seize Taiwan to gain control of TSMC if the United States and its allies impose sanctions against the Middle Kingdom like those now in place against Russia, according to a prominent Chinese economist.

The move follows the suggestion last year out of the US that Taiwan should be prepared to destroy its semiconductor factories if China were to invade...

... Echoing many concerns in the West, Chen said that China needs to take steps to secure its industrial chain and supply chain, and make strategic preparations to "deal with the United States' insistence on breaking the chain and containing it," according to a translation of the text. This means that if the US and allies imposed sanctions on China like those deployed against Russia, China "must recover Taiwan" and "seize TSMC..."

... Any attempt by China to seize Taiwan and TSMC might be futile anyway, if the Taiwanese government were to adopt the scorched-earth policy proposed last year in a paper from a US Army War College. This suggested that Taiwan's best deterrent against potential Chinese aggression is to put in place a credible strategy to destroy its semiconductor manufacturing facilities if an invasion were to occur, thus depriving China of the supply of much of its semiconductors...

Taiwan is seen as vital by both the US and China because it accounts for such a large part of the world's semiconductor manufacturing capacity...

Hopefully cool heads will stay cool... For the good of the world!

Stay safe folks!

Well Xi's policy changes in recent years hasn't been going down well.

As China sabotages its own economic interests in Europe, US should take advantage of the opportunity.

He and his crew of cronies certainly don't seem to understand the damage that they are doing to their country now.

Well it looks like Xi's COVID policies will only keep on adding to supply, shipping and transport problems while also adding its bit to worldwide inflation at the same time.

Constant Cycle of Restrictions Is China’s Covid Future.

Well Xi's recent financial clamp down (on top of his COVID 1's) is really getting to locals upset.

Chinese banks to repay some customers after footage of mass protests spreads.

Customers of rural Chinese banks whose withdrawals have been frozen will begin to get some money back on Friday, regulators said, after depositors clashed with authorities at a rare protest over the weekend.

China’s rural banking sector has been hit hard by Beijing’s efforts to rein in a property bubble and spiralling debt, in a financial crackdown that has had ripple effects across the world’s second-largest economy.

Four banks in Henan province froze cash withdrawals in mid-April in the face of regulatory scrutiny into alleged mismanagement, leaving thousands of savers without funds and sparking sporadic demonstrations.

In one of the largest such rallies, hundreds gathered Sunday outside a branch of the People’s Bank of China in Henan’s capital Zhengzhou demanding their money.

The protests prompted a harsh official response, with demonstrators forced onto buses by police and beaten by plain clothes men, according to eyewitness accounts given to AFP and verified photos on social media.

The announcement came a day after local police said it had arrested members of a “criminal gang” accused of taking over local banks and making illegal transfers through fictitious loans...
I wonder what he'll do next to upset them.

The locals are becoming more restless under Xi's policies and real estate is just another point of contention.

China’s real estate crisis heightens as people refuse to pay mortgages.

They’re paying for homes that haven’t been built. And nobody wants to live in them anyway. Now Chairman Xi Jinping is racing to silence angry homebuyers ahead of his inauguration as China’s eternal leader.

Xi Jinping Thought – the doctrine set to define the future of his nation – talks of common prosperity and win-win scenarios.

No one dares speak otherwise.

Which is why Communist Party controlled social media platforms are clamping down hard on unhappy homebuyers threatening to stop paying their mortgages.

A year after China’s major property developers began defaulting on billions of dollars worth of loans, the real estate crisis is escalating. ‘Mum and dad’ investors fear their money has vanished into unbuilt homes.

With good cause.

Only about 60 per cent of all apartments pre-sold between 2013 and 2020 have reportedly been completed. But their owners are still paying.

In little more than a week, what started as a small public protest in Henan province has spread to Hebei, Hunan, and Shaanxi provinces. And the hit-list of about 30 incomplete housing projects has exploded to 319.

Now Beijing is trying to slam the door shut on the protest movement. But the horse may have already bolted....

Taiwan hones invasion response amid China’s threats over Pelosi trip.

... On Wednesday on Bali beach, Taiwanese troops practiced repelling a potential amphibious assault along the stretch of waterfront connecting Taipei Port and the Tamsui River mouth, crucial to defending the capital city of Taipei.

The mock invasion comes at a high point of tension in the Taiwan Strait after Beijing lashed out at the United States over the potential Pelosi visit, sparking concern that the situation could spiral into the worst cross-strait crisis since the 1990s.

The drills, part of a five-day program of civil and military preparedness exercises, began with explosions that sent clouds of black sand into the sky. The imitation enemy assault was met with helicopters, tanks and fighter jets, while army reservists manned a network of sandbag-lined trenches....

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan late Tuesday, becoming the highest-ranking American official in 25 years to visit the self-ruled island claimed by China, which quickly announced that it would conduct military maneuvers in retaliation for her presence.

Sounds like China is going to waste oil, bought from Putin, to finance his war on Ukraine.

What I am afraid of, is that Ms. Pelosi's visit to Taiwan could be an error, and not a thing she should have done.

China is almost a superpower today, with a rich and different history other than western cultures.

Therefore it also could be unpredictable as a nation, and we do not know what next could be happening.

Different areas of interest, and also different blocks for the same, when also different Ideologies.

It is Ideologies which creates for war, or the groundwork for it, and here the sometimes mad thinking happening in someone's head.

Believe in science for that of stated meaning, and sometimes you could be an atheist for not any believer, but you could still end up moderating.

It seems that Xi now has an issue with another neighbour.

South Korea and China clash over US missile shield, hampering efforts to renew bilateral ties.

When will his childishness end?

Chinese 'spy ship' Yuan Wang 5 docks in Sri Lanka despite Indian concern
Chinese research ship has docked in Sri Lanka's Hambantota port despite Indian concerns.
The Yuan Wang 5 was given permission to dock on the condition it would not carry out research while in Sri Lankan waters, said port officials.
India had previously voiced concerns that the ship would be used to spy on its activities, said media reports.
Sri Lanka's Foreign Ministry said the ship will be allowed to remain in the Chinese-run port until 22 August.

Is Xi's plans for his country failing?

China has unveiled a multibillion-dollar plan to rescue its tanking economy – but experts say it won’t be enough to stop the crisis.

China made headlines this week after announcing an ambitious $A63 billion, 19-point plan to bolster its ailing financial system.

But according to a string of experts, it might not be enough to salvage the fortunes of the world’s second-largest economy.

On Wednesday, Chinese media reported that the State Council had decided upon the strategy to stabilise the economy, which has been seriously weakened by the Covid pandemic and ongoing lockdowns alongside the nation’s alarming real estate crunch, and now a record-breaking heatwave and drought, which has sparked mass factory shutdowns.

Under the scheme, billions will be spent on infrastructure to stimulate the economy, along with a string of other measures....
The ordinary Chinese people are already getting restless and by some reports that is expected to grow.
