I want to thank everyone that helped me. Today I got a total of 3 work units for the 8 idle towers. That is better than nothing. I am going to run another project, not sure which one yet. Angie . .Glad we could help. You are getting more than I am now :) Stephen :) |

I want to thank everyone that helped me. Today I got a total of 3 work units for the 8 idle towers. That is better than nothing. I am going to run another project, not sure which one yet. Angie There are cpu-oriented astronomy, physics and cosmology projects. As well as biology/genetics/coronavid19 projects. Einstein@home and Cosmology@Home both for sure. Cosmology requires a free Virtual Machine but is running nicely on my Windows box. Rosetta@Home is doing protein folding research including Coronavid19 specific apps. World Community Grid has a variety of projects that should be appealing, you can pick and choose as well as regulate the number of tasks downloaded for each sub-project. And WCG has a Corna19 project getting ready to start up (I heard it is in alpha testing). I have looked at your collection of systems. And some may only be able to run some of the smallest WCG-type tasks. I also know the default PrimeGrid 321 Sieve task can run on some of your very smallest memory systems. I still have Seti@Home active on my boxes. I just am not counting on much load from them. Tom M A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

I poked into one of my outstanding work units to determine why it was pending and I found another 40,000 work units. Seems to be a hot computer but not that hot. |

Thanks for the long run, Eric. Appreciate all you've done and will continue to do for the project. Made 20 years on March 28th; just under the wire! Warm regards. |

So will this be starting back up, or is that it? |

So will this be starting back up, or is that it? It's likely that there will be something from SETI at some time in the future, but it might be more than a year in the future. For the next few weeks you might catch an occasional re-sent task now and then. https://boinc.berkeley.edu/projects.php has details of most of the other BOINC projects, that you might want to look at if you wish to continue contributing to one or more other science projects. This will keep BOINC occupied, and you should continue to get notified by SETI of what is happening in the future, and the results of the last few years we have contributed. |

I poked into one of my outstanding work units to determine why it was pending and I found another 40,000 work units. Seems to be a hot computer but not that hot. . . Hi Dena, . . Half of them are already processed but there are 26,000 in progress tasks that need to be resent, that host does not seem to have returned any results since 1st April. Stephen :( |

This seems to be a bunkered hosts, the host will resume to crunch this after it ends to crunch the ones it already has on his cache. ![]() |

Oops, did I miss something? ;o) Sad not to have quite made it to 21 years of Seti@home, but I suppose no one else did either! Thanks for keeping my house warm over the years. ATB, BW |

Shame and I just got a new PC dedicated to SETI, been running it on Raspberry Pi, a stack of them. Guess I shall view the BOINC site and see what good cause my Pis can crunch on. One day I hope SETI could come back, its been fun ![]() |

once the assimilation queue hits 0, the numbers in the "results returned and awaiting validation" queue will stop going down so fast and trend very closely with the results out in the field value. Seti@Home classic workunits: 29,492 CPU time: 134,419 hours ![]() ![]() |

Out in the field is more interesting anyway to me. As long as this is above 0, there's still a chance to grab a new WU :) |
