It would interesting to see how many of those are "real" results, and not timing out or already had their canonical result declared. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

It would interesting to see how many of those are "real" results, and not timing out or already had their canonical result declared. I think all Canonical Results were completed around the time of the Red Message at the top of the home page. My final 2 Valid results have gone in the last hour. Results out in the field has also dropped below 20k Results returned and awaiting validation is now below 30k. |

Everyone deserves some "Sun". I believe with 100,000 RAC machines you were highly competitive with the average Seti user(s). . . H i Tom, . . Yep, dual GTX1060 machines on the sauce were very good producers. Ah well, maybe it will come back before I trip and fall off my perch ... Stephen <keeping positive> |

I think all Canonical Results were completed around the time of the Red Message at the top of the home page. . . Down to 105 valids left here, most went in the last 2 clearance batches. But at least one has a deadline in July Stephen |

There are 2 or 3 computers in the https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/top_hosts.php that are holding on to tasks until just before deadline in order to maintain their RAC. https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=8652081&offset=1400&show_names=0&state=0&appid= Unfortunately the maintenance outages are now lasting longer than they used to, so some of these bunkered tasks are timing out instead of receiving any credit. |

... some of these bunkered tasks are timing out instead of receiving any credit.LOL. Hoist by their own petard! This is getting silly. Just let them whistle trough at normal speed, and we can all stop messing about. |

Although the SETI project is in hibernation doesn't mean people can't do amateur radio astronomy. In the milkyway galaxy there is a narrow quiet radio area or column between the galaxy spirals where chaos doesn't exist much like our solar system is surrounded by. Ideal conditions. That is where good opportunity for radio and laser reception that where there is not chaos there may be life. (lowest density star populations) Actual fact there has been interesting reports from small operators from time to time. (notably Australia) I am crunching for milkyway@home I'd like to recommend it as a fallback to SETI for GPU but ROSETA does research for the COVID19 proteins for you rizen CPU's because they don't do GPU work units ... or at least ... not yet. A radio telescope built to orbit the Earth on a 20 year mission would most likely give a much better reception as it doesn't have Earths environment to enter much like the success of Hubble. Perhaps even the Hubble could be refit as a space radio-scope than sent into the ocean Thanks for the ear SETI I'd lastly like to mention I once had a radio scope. It was a 5 - band shortwave and I adjusted it to also search ULF My parents fence line was the antenna when i was a kid and I carefully insulated the wires between the fence posts as to not let them earth and I ensured I had an earth cable for protection much like tv antennas do. I was amazed that the radio was stretched down to lower frequency due to vast distance to be directly translated to radio in analogue. A simple crystal radio style receiver built with germanium diodes and an calibration-adjustable analogue tune dial plugged into a second stage audio amp was lots of fun as well. I never knew the 2 ghz band it wasn't heard of. Given there was a discovery for germanium diodes to receive FM band by means of a tube buried in the ground perhaps someone could come up with a solution for Gigahertz waves to down convert them to audio range for fun and if there'd be digital sequences they could be recorded :) Kind regards. |

... some of these bunkered tasks are timing out instead of receiving any credit.LOL. Hoist by their own petard! IMHO That' s was done exactly with than intention. Is a way to force to report all ASAP or credit will not be achieved. The real question is: Who many WU are still needed to be crunched/ reported to close and finish the Science DB? Some time ago was in the range of less than 2% (IIRC) probabily now is a lot less. And with only 10K WU in the field that could be in the range of 100 WU or less. |

I think the Red Message at the top of the home page We are no longer distributing tasks ...Is indicating that all the necessary work has been completed, and that anything else is just being done for Credits rather than having any effect on the Science Database. That was my assumption when I read that message, but it could be interpreted in a different way, it's a bit ambiguous in meaning ! |

¿Tienen alguna fecha estimada para dar a conocer el resultado de los datos recopilados? |

¿Tienen alguna fecha estimada para dar a conocer el resultado de los datos recopilados? Do you have an estimated date to disclose the result of the data collected? No timescale has been given, but I would expect more than a year. No se ha dado escala de tiempo, pero esperaría más de un año. ¿Tienen alguna fecha estimada para dar a conocer el resultado de los datos recopilados? Funny, I thought it was an English spoken forum here ;), try using Google translate, or DeepL Team AnandTech - SETI@H, Muon1 DPAD, F@H, MW@H, A@H, LHC@H, POGS, R@H, DHEP@H. While English is the intended language some posters don't speak, or write it with any degree of comfort so post in their native language. In such cases I do the polite thing of providing a translation of the question, then reply both in English and the person's own language. Whilst that is very decent of you, their is no reason he or she couldn't have done that, also at many forums you'd get a warning from the mods for not posting in the native language, hence my light hearted comment. I recently registered at a German forum and I don't speak a word of German, I was going to write my 1st post in German and English (in case the translation was really bad! lol) to another English person there, annoyingly Google translate wasn't working at that point (turns out the 'Translate page' is temperamental with that site!), anyway I considered it rude to not at least attempt a native posting so I PM'ed her instead. I'll be trying DeepL instead next time (seems to do a better job with German anyway). Anyhow, it's usually easy enough to provide a translation, even if it ends up being pretty bad! lol ;). Anyway, you're the mod, so if you're happy with it, then that's the end of it :) Team AnandTech - SETI@H, Muon1 DPAD, F@H, MW@H, A@H, LHC@H, POGS, R@H, DHEP@H. I have several hundred complete SETI tasks since June 2020. I am getting no response from the servers to accept this completed data. Well these results be accepted? Thanks Lorenz H. Menke, Jr. |

By now they will either have timed out, or have been abandoned by the servers because they weren't returned in time. It is something like a month ago that the servers stopped accepting returned work and were effectively taken off line for returned tasks, also the stats pages appear to be frozen at about the same time. is there any update on when work will start to be sent back out again... i hope this project does not end... i honestly love this project... i am getting a new computer and really want to put it to the test with work trying to find Life out there. I hope this project picks back up soon and does not die... I love this project. I want to fine Life out there... please start back sending work... I do not care if it re-exaaminging old data or new data... just lets get some work out there. |

I would suggest that the best place to get forewarning of new data being released will be the "Nebula" thread. Since the development of Nebula is not going as well as it was hoped I suspect we are in for a few more months at the very least.
