Almost 15 years. Truly devastated by this news. Anyone have any recommendations on what to crunch next? I have never even thought of running anything else. I would like to crunch something space related. Thanks to ALL of the volunteers who kept this project going! Is there any chance it will come back?

The last chunk of new SETI@home work has gone out. There's still a little astropulse to be split when disk space clears. Beyond that, there's only resends when validation fails.

Thanks for staying 'til the end.

. . Einstein@Home is about Gravity waves and Pulsars, you might have a peek over there. There are other worthwhile projects too. Rosetta stone seems to be popular as an alternative but I believe it is CPU only. You could run Rosetta on your spare CPU cores and E@H on the GPUs.

. . Thanks Eric, did you have any success revamping that script to trigger more immediate resends to clear the backlogs?

. . As for staying till the end, well OCD can have its advantages :)

And to be fair, no one could say nothing and for an incredible coincidence, one of the hosts who received this last WU was just created in 27 Mar 2020, 3:03:04 UTC few days ago.

Nice work Eric. I hope i could be here crunching until the last days.

Stay safe, you and your team has a lot of work to do analyzing all the date received.

Keep up posted if something "interesting" appears.

We will be waiting for the good news!

Raising a toast to more than 20 years of SETI@home. Cheers! And be sure to keep us informed if it turns out ET has been signalling us for all this time. ;-)
Gazing at the skies, hoping for contact... Unlikely, but it would be such a fantastic opportunity to learn.

God Bless all whom have worked at the SSL for keeping this Project
going for as long as it did.

God Bless the Volunteers without whom Distributed Computing might
NOT have become what it is today.

SETI@Home started it all, it's a sad day to say goodbye to my second home.

Eric, what are you going to do about the requirement of RAC > 1 to be able to post on the main forums?

As posted by me: Posted: 31 Mar 2020, 19:25:33 UTC here:

https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=85412&postid=2042054

"Maybe make it Credit > 1 ??"

As Posted: 1 Apr 2020, 4:17:59 UTC by Eric Korpela here:

https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=85412&postid=2042179

We will have to replace the RAC>1 requirement with a total credit requirement. We may also have to come up with an endorsement process to allow new users.

Well, I got that right :-)

Any chance of a job please Eric ? ;-)

This is my first time posting here. Wanted to thank everyone involved on this wonderful project. Every WU helps the search. Every great discovery has to have a beginning. It may take years, decades or centuries to reach the ultimate goal. I am glad to habe been part of this wonderful 21 year project. Perhaps a simple blink of an eye compared to what still need to be searched in future projects. We all kicked some hind didn't we SETI@home members. Any hopes for quantum computing assisted SETI? Sign me up for round 2 whatever it might be called and on any platform that it might support. The best is yet to come my friends.

Servers sure don't seem happy right now, but saved it on archive.org (seems like forum code won't do this link right, see if http://web.archive.org/web/20200402054717/https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=3955253882 works). Looks like it's without the CSS though, not sure if that's the best it can do or because of the server issues. Just thought it should be there...

Otherwise, sad moment, but it's been a good run. Maybe it'll all return someday.

I live in a busy area, the normal level of outside noise and the fans on my PCs, have been the background to my daily life.

Today my two linux machines are silent, and with , busses cars and planes few and far between now, the silence is deafening!

Lets hope one day our efforts will bear fruit.

I was hoping to hit 110M, got close.
It has been fun and an honor to contribute to this goal over the last 20 years.
Thank you to those of you that ran the project and all of you who also contributed and helped me resolve the occasional processing glitch.

Right now it might be a good idea to help fighting Corona.
* Your CPU can do via Rosetta@home: http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ - which also runs via Boinc
* CPU and GPU can help via Folding@home: https://foldingathome.org/ - which is not Boinc unfortunately
