In Science United I am getting thousands of Milkyway@home tasks, both CPU and GPU. More than 36000 done but I get no credits.

If I understand it right, that is the way Science United is setup. While you get no credits you also are completely anonymous (which could be a good thing).

But a lot of people miss getting credits so you just have to "pick and choose" if you want any credits.

I have looked at the cosmologyathome.org project. It wants you to enable your virtual machine support on the motherboard. Install a virtual machine. And if you don't want to devote all your cpu threads to the project you will need to set the Boinc Manager or Website to X % of cpus/threads.

Apparently the cpu app has been setup so if there are cpu threads available it will use them even though you only have "one" app running. Classic multi-threading :)

Like Seti@Home the crunching you do for Cosomologyathome.org is only part of the processing pipeline.
Like Seti@Home the crunching is necessary to the project but can be sliced into small enough pieces that a home/work PC can chew through it in a "reasonable" speed (whatever that means).

I run einsteinathome.org as my backup to Seti@Home project. The cpu tasks are pretty long (12-24 hours per task). The gpu tasks are shorter. Under a FAQ thread at E@H the writer recommends running a single cpu app and a single gpu app until the seti scheduler has enough experience to correctly allocate resources. The writer also recommends a very small cache of 0.1 days to start out with.

In Science United I have added the Medicine and Biology field to my preferences, hoping to get any Rosetta@home task. But I am still getting mostly Milkyway@home tasks.
