Grant: NO yellow , all 3 are are clear. Under General it says " this device is working properly" Under DETAILS " Standard SATA AHCI Controller" I give up. LOL |

Grant: NO yellow , all 3 are are clear. Under General it says " this device is working properly" Under DETAILS " Standard SATA AHCI Controller" So, as i posted in my previous post- Have you tried a different SATA port on the motherboard? On my motherboard, when using an M.2 drive it means one of the SATA ports is no long usable. The only other thing that comes to mind would be to try a different power supply (or at least a different SATA power connector). If the controller on the motherboard is OK (which it appears to be) the only things left are the drive, the data lead, or the power to the drive- or the port on the motherboard being used has an issue. Maybe try them all? A dodgy port OK, but no way all of them would be dead if the controller itself is OK. Edit- Looking at the manual for the Strix X399-E Gaming sTR4, the extra lanes the CPU supports means the M.2 drive doesn't reduce the number of usable SATA ports. So i'd try a couple of others to see if they will get the HDD recognised. As i said- if the controller is OK (which the OS considers it to be) the problem then can only be the data lead, the HDD, it's power supply, or the port on the motherboard. And the odds of all the ports on the motherboard being dead, and the controller OK, are pretty damn remote. Grant Darwin NT |

3. Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz ( i have 4 intalled =32gb) Only 16GB showing on the BOINC info there, but that seems to be a BOINC issue- my system with 32GB of RAM only shows up as 16GB in the project system specs also. Threadrippers are Quad channel boards, so with 4 DIMMs, 4 slots will still be empty so you need to make sure they are in the right slots to get maximum memory performance and enable Quad channel mode- which appears to be the light coloured DIMM slots. 2 on one side of the CPU, 2 on the other. Do the drives show up in the bios...if not are the ports disabled or set to raid instead of ahci. |

Do the drives show up in the bios...if not are the ports disabled or set to raid instead of ahci. They do not show up in the bios, everything is set at default, and no overclocking , all sata ports are enabled and default set at ACHI. |
