I have a bottle of water, a 5 gallon bottle straight from the faucet. Just in case.

The water is from one of two wells, I've drank some water from the bottle with no ill effects.

Oh and the bottle is covered and insulated too.

I know it is extreme but would you drink from a public water fountain knowing that a possible infected person has used it or would you rather have a bottled water instead?

I knew sooner or later it would happen:
Police Beg People To Stop Calling 911 When Out Of Toilet Paper, Offer Creative Solutions
“It’s hard to believe that we even have to post this. Do not call 9-1-1 just because you ran out of toilet paper. You will survive without our assistance,” the Newport Police Department posted on its official Facebook page.

The humorous officer who penned the plea offered some options for those who can’t live without toilet paper...

Well this afternoon I went to do a bit of shopping at my local Sainsburys (supermarket.)

Gob smacked I was at all the people wandering aimelessly until I noticed half the shelves were empty.

Even the beer isle was decimated (OMG!)

The checkout person said they had had a run on stock goods with ques of people at 8am raiding the shelves.

(Mostly car drivers I suspect given the area.)

Latter on this evening I looked at ordering some items I needed from the ASDA supermarket online only to be met with no delivery spots for the next 14 days..

What has got into these people.

I fear for the elderly or low income people who don't drive, don't use the internet and shop daily or weekly.

I also fear for the masses turning up in a supermarket jossling for items and condensing the chance of catching bugs.

Which brings me to protection.

Given the shortage of surgical masks there are some suprising alternatives.

The simplest being T-Shirt material.

I suspect "Never Mind The B*ll*cks" might be a suitable T shirt to wear around ones mouth.

That and avoid greedy people in cars who go home with 40 tins of beans.

No wonder the TP is in such demand.

He suggests from your article:

Mother Earth News magazine will even tell you how to make your own wipes using fifteen different leaves.

Wish I had read that before trying out the nettles. :(

People are running scared of catching Covid-19, so I thought "What is the infection rate per capita"?
It paints a very different story:

Country Cases Population Case/Million
San Marino 119 33,931 3507.117385
Holy See 1 801 1248.439451
Iceland 247 341,243 723.8243715
Italy 1506 60,461,826 521.0891249
Andorra 39 77,265 504.756358
Liechtenstein 19 38,128 498.3214436
Luxembourg 203 625,978 324.292547
Switzerland 2700 8,654,622 311.9720307
Spain 13716 46,754,778 293.360392
Norway 1486 5,421,241 274.1069803

United Kingdom 1960 67,886,011 28.87192768

US 6496 331,002,651 19.62522046

There are quite a number of countries that haven't reported any, and a fair number that I think have under-reported - they stand out as having very low rates despite being surrounded by countries with much higher rates.

Some of those figures are wrong. For example:

Italy 1506 60,461,826 521.0891249

Should be 24.9 cases per million not 521. (Assuming population and individual cases are correct.) (EG: 1506 / 60.461826)

521 cases/M is correct.
If you multiply 521 with 60.5 million you get the cases reported in Italy that is 31,520.
It's 1506 cases that is wrong and it's look like it should be 31506 instead.

I got other data from Italy.
35,713 cases, 2,978 deaths, 591 cases/M and no new cases today.
