Earlier this morning... Truck loaded with TP crashes, burns on Dallas highway this morning.

No April Fools joke! A Semi carrying industrial size toilet paper overturned and caught fire WB I-20 at I-45 in Dallas. The driver is ok. http://pic.twitter.com/CPCpwHTnqO

LOL!! How many hoarders with unwiped behinds are mourning the loss? Glad the driver was ok.

Looks like some of them might have to "drip dry".

Baby Wipe's are in very good supply here and I advised them never to flush Baby Wipe's down the toilet.
Unless they want a huge bill from a plumber & sewerage in places it shouldn't be.

Today in South suburban Fort Worth TX.....
Went grocery shopping at my local store today, was waiting in line for about 30 minutes before they opened.

The city and county health department now only allowing one person per household in stores at a time and no infant or kid's are allowed in no exceptions.

They also are restrictions on only allowing 1/4 of total occupancy at any given time including employees. They have an armed Sheriff's officer on the entrance and a fire department person on the exit with 2-way radio's to communicate when people exit and to let the next person(s) in. In one door exit the other side of store.

They actually had a reasonable amounts of TP and other paper products in stock since this all started almost 5 weeks ago.

Most other departments were well stocked except canned soups and dry pasta still lacking.

I think the hoarding is just about over at least in my small corner of the country.

I am seeing similar recovery in Northern California. No law enforcement but they do have someone counting the number of people entering and exiting. They stop people if there are too many. There is toilet paper and paper towels but limit on number of packages per person. Some items are still out of stock but certainly plenty of fruit and veggies. Dairy and meats have recovered too. Dry goods not so much. There are kids allowed here. Nearly everyone is wearing a mask. Exception is 20-30 year old men. They still don't seem to get it.

I found out why I was not able to buy any TP, the stores are not getting much TP when the truck(s?) come to deliver TP.
I was able to buy 24 rolls this morning before 7am.

Made a few faces go red this morning in Asda.
Some were moaning about price gouging when they picked up some TP.
No more 12 packs but 6 packs for the same price of 12.
Picked up 2 packs as running short.
Burst out laughing when I saw the front.
Normally, a 12 pack is tall & slim, the 6 pack short & fat.
On the front:
6 rolls =12 previous rolls - they've doubled the rolls. :-)
Oh, & one cannot fail to see that notice.

Have not looked too closely at the packets, but the TP shelves on my local Tesco are well stocked.

Got a few months supply (pack of 9) at home so was not looking to buy any.

I went shopping on Fri afternoon and most things seem to be in good supply except pasta and hand cleaner.

The only item I was worried about was my dog food, but have been informed direct from the supplier that they have good stocks and no problems with their supply, and they will inform their regulars if this changes in the future.

I just got back from our village supermarket and their shelves are mostly stocked up again (I only needed bread and milk). Under this Easter lock down there's very little travelling the highway through the village this weekend (locals, the hwy patrol and freight trucks only) as the border 65km north is closed so those shelves may stay stocked for a while.

Cheers.

Went to the grocery store today to get some basic stuff... They actually had a small amount of TP and "kleenex" but no paper towels.

Still seeing some empty shelves mostly dry goods such as canned soups, broth and bullion.

I'll leave you with this fun read:
Virus lockdowns have people baking for the first time. The results are horrifying

Hope your cooking experience is better than these people.

If I wanted to bake something in the oven, it would come out perfect, but then I do know how to cook and bake.

My mom taught Me how to cook and to bake, but then I've been doing that since I was 12.

Last week I baked 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies with chopped walnuts. Very good. I might make Pecan Sandies today --well see.

Went to my local Piggly Wiggly grocery store tonight to refill the pantry.
Everything was in pretty good supply.
TP shelves were about 1/2 full, with a 1 package limit, but plenty to be had.
And the only rice left on the shelves was some large 20 lb. bags.
Everything else was very well stocked up.

Being in a rural area, when I went to buy some TP, it was before 6:30am and the shelves for TP only had 1/6th or so of the usual supply there and there is a limit of two 12 packs of TP @ Food4Less, which is all they had, 12 packs, they open at 7am for everyone else who is not a Senior or Disabled Person(6am-7am), I'm thinking of switching to Stater Bros since Food4Less as a chain is not repairing the Electric Wheelchairs there, the Barstow store has 8 Electric Wheelchairs and 4 have not worked for over a month, Yet this is not a problem at Staters or at Walmart. Walmart is now limiting how many people get in to their Supercenter and they are as expensive as Vons when it was still in Barstow.
