With the news that Seti@home is going into hibernation at the end of the month what personal crunching target would you like to reach before the last work unit is validated?

I switched from Seti@home classic to BOINC when I reach 6,000 classic workunits as it was a nice round number.

I have crunched Seti@home on BOINC on and off over the years so wondered if I should set a target of 5,000,000 total credit. Would be a strecth target for me to reach in March. Debating if it is worth the electricty bill!

I hope to reach 1000 consecutive valid tasks on one of my computers, after its dead BIOS battery caused it to erronneously abort tasks as it believed itself in the year 2088. :-)
Gazing at the skies, hoping for contact... Unlikely, but it would be such a fantastic opportunity to learn.

I've already earned my Seti Toaster for 1 Billion Credits. Now have one of my computers crunching for a fellow team mate so he too can earn his Seti Toaster and join the Billionaires Club. All my other fellow Billionaires have done the same. We should have no problem getting our team mate into the club by the end of March.

I'm happy to have passed both 20yrs and 250 million credits with my 2 main modest ever evolving setups (though the help of a couple of older 1's during wintertimes for warmth also helped with the credits) . ;-)

Cheers.

Same here, and we have both made it into the top 100 crunchers.

I was hoping to get to a modest 40 million, and become an adult on the 18th May.

I'd like to make it to 4 million. 3.75 is probably more realistic.

It would have also been nice if my first S@H computer I started with in 2004 could have made it. It failed last September after crunching S@H for over 15 years.

Hope that I can get enough work to reach that billion kibble mark I have worked towards for almost 20 years before it's all said and done.
I am soooooooooo close, it would be a shame if I cannot get there.

Well kittyman, since you do not do Linux, it's obviously not all your machines running on your account now.

LOL

But nevertheless, good luck with that goal.

Thank you.

Hmm, I wonder whether I can make it to 400,000 before the end of the month. I'd already decided to keep the computers running at night, now I've increased the number of CPUs allowed to crunch. And if I'm lucky, I'll receive a new computer before it's too late (not counting on it though). ;-)

I would like to reach 20 million credits, but whatever my final total will be is fine. I've enjoyed participating and reading the message boards. Have some other projects that will become my primary focus, split between those projects, once work here is unavailable.

Cheers!

Almost there! :)

I'm an Adult Now
By The Pursuit of Happiness

Well, I don't hate my parents
I don't get drunk just to spite them
I've got my own reasons to drink now
I think I'll call my dad up and invite him
I can sleep in till noon anytime I want
Though there's not many days that I do
Gotta get up and take on that world
When your an adult it's no cliche it's the truth
'Cause I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now
I've got the problems of an adult
On my head and on my shoulders
I'm an adult now
I can't even look at young girls anymore
People will think I'm some kind of pervert
Adult sex is either boring or dirty
Young people they can get away with murder
I don't write songs about girls anymore
I have to write songs about women
No more boy meets girl boy loses girl
More like man tries to understand what the hell went wrong
'Cause I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now
I've got the problems of an adult
On my head and on my shoulders
I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now
I can't take any more illicit drugs
I can't afford any artificial joy
I'd sure look like a fool dead in a ditch somewhere
With a mind full of chemicals
Like some cheese-eating high school boy
'Cause I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now
I've got the problems of an adult
On my head and on my shoulders
I'm an adult now
Sometimes my head hurts and sometimes my stomach hurts
And I guess it won't be long
For I'm sitting in a room with a bunch
Of people whose necks and backs are aching
Whose sight and hearing's fading
Who just can't seem to get it up
Speaking of hearing, I can't take too much loud music
I mean I like to play it, but I sure don't like the racket
Noise, but I can't hear anything
Just guitars screaming, screaming, screaming
Some guy screaming in a leather jacket
Woah!
I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now
I've got the problems of an adult
On my head and on my shoulders
I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now
I've got the problems of an adult
On my head and on my shoulders
I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now
I'm an adult now

I put two old computers online hoping to hit 30 million before the shut down.

Mark I am truly disappointed you might not hit the 1 billion point. We've never spoke but I've always enjoyed all your posts over the years.
I don't think anybody has ever matched your enthusiasms for this project. Even when it would get you banned from the boards, LOL!! Of
course I wanted to be the one to find the next WOW signal, and collect my toaster. But if it wasn't me, I wanted it to be you!! Keep the
kitties in kibble.
