Done. Well done guys, nice burst at the end.
Oct the best month for points & results so far.
119 days run time short of June's total.

OK, it's time to go NNT with all my computers, except for the slowest ones.
I need to save some electricity.

We'll soon know from Sirius the result for October.

. . With the searing temperatures of an Aussie summer on the way I may shut down the hotter units too to save on the cost of fixing and running the A/C unit. Oh well it's been fun. I just hope someone sends me an email if/when SETI restarts or finds something interesting ...

Follow the discussions on GitHub. Fred ('efmer' - author of BoincTasks) has been working on extending the standard GUI RPC protocol so that BoincTasks can monitor and control Android clients, like any other desktop clients. And if the protocol works, then other tools - like the standard BOINC Manager -will be able to do the same.

But Fred has been working alone, in his own little bubble, and hasn't integrated with the rest of the team working on the Android client and its native user interface. I fear that they may be pulling in different directions, and that may slow things down again, despite the good intentions. It's early days yet: Fred dumped a huge number of proposed changes into the pot just yesterday afternoon, and they will take time to digest. But Fred says he has a working prototype of a BoincTasks - Android connection.

WCG has given me three Gold Badges and a Ruby Badge. Maybe the next one will be a Diamond Badge and I shall make a diamond ring for my next fiancée (I am 85).

Thanks for reply, good to see work in that direction too but my question was about little different connection issue - that prevents connection to server and getting tasks.
It was healed on desktops by new security keys download (and eventually updated client pack), but was it done for Android too? Can't just replace keys there, not rooted device...

Ouch. Forgot the computing golden rule - KISS.

Have been updating & consolidating my media files throughout the year but could not complete it due to the drives (Toshiba P300) I wanted were out of stock. Now back in stock so ordered some yesterday evening (about 4pm) & they arrived this afternoon. Nice.
Installed them in remaining 4 bay enclosure - Only 1 seen & dialogue box says "device not ready". Hmm...
...retry but one at a time, initialise & format - perfect.

Now the fun starts, 10 hours per drive to copy over? Ouch. Checks WCG. With the 12 tasks remaining & including pending, should hit emerald by the weekend so hit NNT ready for SCC.
Might get slowed down by copying over 1 drive at a time overnight.

Well, there was no update on Google Play for BOINC so I downloaded from BOINC site and installed.
Seems it downloads Einstein tasks now, issue fixed.

BTW, no news regarding GPU usage for BOINC projects on Android devices? CPU-Z reports Adreno 610 for mine (OpenCL 2.0 accordingly reviews)

Sorry about the confusion. Yes, because all the new ideas are still swirling around (incomplete), there aren't any fully-formed packages around - not even betas, let alone fully-tested and released to Google Play Store stipulations. They're pretty strict.

I got a beta version of v7.16.3 from a ppk, best part of a year ago. https://einsteinathome.org/host/12798421

And what status of Albert@home test project now, maybe anyone knows?

I see few beta apps on main project app page so wonder what purpose of A@h then?

Seems you have working good device, it gives hope :)

BTW, what device? It seems you have Android 10 on it, mine only Android 9 (Redme Note 8).
And 8 CPUs listed too - are they asymmetrical ? What simultaneous tasks per device?
I currently attempt 4 of 8 possible (device has 4 "big" and 4 "little" cores and memory constrains not quite obvious so far. Had rather bad experience with Rosetta on that device before so not full load at first.

P.S.

Mine is 7.4.53 currently. Worth (or preferable) to update further?

OMG, that's smth new...
Getting sound distortion (Groove music, Win10 stock new sound player) with BOINC running Einstein (including GPU).
Checked - if BOINC paused - no distortions, unpause it - distortions returned.
Had smth alike only with very experimental GPU SETI apps with very long kernels....

Anyone sees smth alike for 1.22 (FGRPopencl1K-nvidia) (beta test) E@h app? (hope it's not CPU apps after all EDIT: checked, full CPU E@h load is OK while GPU is suspended)

Seems like E@h has an answer:

Please note: BOINC for Android (version 7.4.53) is severely outdated unfortunately and there are a number of known issues. We've really hoped to see an earlier update but the BOINC community went for a (more or less) full rewrite which still seems to be quite a bit away from a Play Store release. That said, I think there's a beta app available you could try. YMMV, as always.

EDIT: Updated to 7.16.3 too.

Can't find its package in Android/data ....

And smth completely different came to mind:
there is binary pulsar search on E@h based on Arecibo data.

Anyone reviewed how different their freq range and pecularities of signal in question from types of signals we searched here?

Maybe our collected data can be reparsed for E@h search? That could bring some additional attention (and eventually maybe even manpower) to our project....

It's a Samsung 'Tab A 10.1" 2019' - or a 25cm tablet. I got it for static Beta testing: I don't use it as a portable device.

At Einstein, it runs four tasks at once on the CPU cores - that's automatic, not under user control. I think the practicalities are that the 4 'big' cores are restricted for Android use only, but the 4 'little' cores are accessible by downloaded apps like BOINC. It also exposes a GPU to BOINC, and it asks Einstein for GPU work - but Einstein's server doesn't parse the class of GPU detected, and Einstein hasn't written any apps for it yet. I've forgotten what the GPU is called - I can check the startup messages next time I reboot it, if you want.

Ah, I attached it here as well - host 8865273. The GPU is 'OpenCL GPU Mali-G71'. It was running Android 9 last time it contacted the SETI server - 12 Dec 2019 - so that must have been updated by Samsung. No work done for SETI (even then), so I don't think it found a compatible application.

It's not rooted, and I have no access to the system filing system: i'm not interested in doing that - my interest is in things the general non-technical user would be able to do. But the result - at v7.16.3 - is no access to cc_config.xml or app_config.xml files.
