Just got my first badge at WCG. It made me happier than I thought. It is nice to have the badges of recognition on the forums, kinda like our stars et al. here. No signs of GPU app there yet? Congrats ! SETI apps news We're not gonna fight them. We're gonna transcend them. |

Just got my first badge at WCG. It made me happier than I thought. It is nice to have the badges of recognition on the forums, kinda like our stars et al. here. Not at WCG. And I read someplace that Rosetta@Home's approach doesn't adapt well to gpus. Tom M A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

I am running Rosetta@home on my AMD Ryzen 5 1400 CPU and GPUGRID on my GTX 1060 GPU board. They asked me to leave Einstein@home GW GPU tasks because they said that the 3 GB of Video RAM on my board were not enough. But I completed the last batch of tasks with no errors. Yes, they said, but bigger tasks will come and you will fail. I am not the one who stays where he is not wanted so I left all Einstein@home tasks. Tullio |

FYI, it has been many years since WCG had GPU tasks, back then it was for (as I remember) X-Ray Cancer Markers (for one of the universities in Canada?). That study was completed, and since then there were no further GPU tasks. It will probably be some time before a new app comes up to use GPU's at WCG. |

WCG don't write the science apps themselves - they rely on partners like Scripps to do that. But if an app is written, and passes WCG quality control, then WCG have said explicitly that they are ready and willing to host it. |

Is Rosetta@Home down? I am getting a 24 hour wait even after a manual update attempt. Tom M A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

Nope, they are up and running. Having no issues myself. You need to update your BOINC or SSL certificates. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Is Rosetta@Home down? I am getting a 24 hour wait even after a manual update attempt. Hi Tom...having a problem here too. I've updated everything, no go. Then tried to detach and re-attach Rosetta, since they have updated Rosetta to use SSL. I am not able to add the project....getting the message "failed to add project". Edit : Fixed it now. Needed to edit the ca-bundle in the BOINC program folder, to get rid rid of an old and outdated certificate. Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it... |

Since my Rosetta@home account is currently not working due to a bad certificate, I've joined WorldCommunityGrid which has sent to me work. Tullio |

Is Rosetta@Home down? I am getting a 24 hour wait even after a manual update attempt. I run Ubuntu with the All-in-One version of BOINC. And cannot find a "ca-bundle" in that folder. Any ideas? Tom A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

Nope, they are up and running. Having no issues myself. You need to update your BOINC or SSL certificates. I ran the "update-ca-certificates --fresh" no luck. Re-installed BOINC from what I believe to be the latest archive. no luck. Reset project. no luck. Which CA cert should I be looking for to "manually edit" it? It looks like there is near a 100+ in the folder I finally tracked them to. World Community Grid's Cornvid19 is working fine. I can just drop R@H if I can't fix it. Tom : In my Boinc program folder there is a file called ca-bundle.crt. Same folder as boinc.exe, boinccmd.exe and boincmgr.exe. Maybe it has another name on Ubuntu, but it will probably be a .crt file. Open this with Notepad, scroll down to the certificate called AddTrust External Root. Delete everything, from -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- to -----END CERTIFICATE----- Save the file. That should fix it. Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it... |

Ghia, that works for Windows, for Linux do: The procedure that worked for me on Ubuntu 18.04.4: (1) Download this file: https://crt.sh/?d=1720081 (2) Place "1720081.crt" in Home directory (e.g., move from desktop) (3) sudo mv 1720081.crt /usr/local/share/ca-certificates (4) sudo update-ca-certificates Worked for my Mint. |

Tom, are you referring to a Windows host or a Linux host? The ca-certificates.crt bundle in Linux is in /etc/ssl. Tom, just follow JohnDK's post further up the thread and get the https://crt.sh/?d=1720081 certificate and then run the sudo update-ca-certificatescommand. Tom, are you referring to a Windows host or a Linux host? The ca-certificates.crt bundle in Linux is in /etc/ssl. Linux. I don't run R@H on Windows anymore. I want to Thank both John and Keith. It is in the process of downloading a new set of "stuff" so it can start doing R@H again. Tom M A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

Ghia, that works for Windows, for Linux do: Hi John, That didn't work for me. A user called Walli came up with a much simpler procedure in this thread on Rosetta. It is late in the thread, just look for my responses to him and you will see the procedure he posts. One thing though, you need to find his post with the fixed Terminal command. There's a link to it. The forum does not allow backslashes and they are needed in the command to work. Have a great day! :) Siran CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L.
