LHC has some SixTrack tasks today, first that I have seen since I rejoined LHC |

I was thinking about doing 50/50 Milkyway and Einstein.. but MW refused to accept the result of every captcha it threw at me so I couldn't even register an account there. Einstein was fine though, so I've been over there for a bit now. Didn't take long for the RAC to stabilize approx where I was with S@H on that salvaged 4770k Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

Some projects will only allow you to register via BOINC Manager If this doesn't work, try to find an HTTPS version of the site |

Some projects will only allow you to register via BOINC Manager Yeah i was going through web browser on their website using https and it gave me a captcha, and after 15 "failed" attempts, I gave up on MW. Captcha said I answered correctly, otherwise it wouldn't have given the green check mark saying "you are human and answered correctly," but then the MW website kept saying invalid captcha. So..... MW doesn't get my CPU cycles. They obviously don't want them. Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

Thanks for the info on WCG. I'm now running 50/50 Rosetta/OpenPandemic. The WCG WUs are nice and short (2 hours). |

World Community Grid now has a Coronavid19 project active. I just put Rosetta@Home on NNT. And turned off the local task limit on WCG. I also changed my WCG profile so only the Corona project is "unlimited". Tom M. A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

Some projects will only allow you to register via BOINC Manager I had a similar problem. I think it doesn't like certain web browsers. Try a different one if you have another option. |

Some projects will only allow you to register via BOINC Manager I'm running E@H for GPUs and MW for CPUs on the few machines I have left running, since current BOINC workshare is borked. I created the MW account via BOINC Manager after being unable to do so via Firefox. Don't recall why, but it was easier that way. Have had no issues for over a month now. |

Some projects will only allow you to register via BOINC Manager Try to attach directly from the boinc manager. Select a new user and it works. Happening to me then you try to attach via web site. Something is broken with the captcha sub routine. Boincmgr does not use the captcha. |

I had joined Science United which sent me more than 40000 Milkyway@home tasks, both CPU and GPU, hundreds of Asteroids@home tasks and 2 Rosetta@home tasks. So I left Science United except for a Linux Virtual Machine running OpenSuSE Tumbleweed with kernel 5.6.11 and joined Rosetta@home via BOINC Manager. Today I received an invitation to join World Community Grid but my main PC is already full with Einstein@home tasks, LHC@home Theory tasks and now Rosetta@home. Tullio |

it's a bit of a stretch to say the client is the problem when it was just a suggestion by one of the users to try, and hasn't even been tested/verified yet. as far as I'm aware, none of the modifications to the GPUUG boinc client would cause the issue he's seeing. and several other GPUUG members are running WCG and I haven't heard anyone else say they're having this problem. as an aside, simply seeing "7.17.0" does not in itself mean its the GPUUG client. that just means it was built with the current 7.17.0 branch. you can (I have myself, and many others not even affiliated with GPUUG) build a totally vanilla boinc client from the 7.17.0 source. It is a GPUUG build, I think I´m using the last version before the multi projects builds started. I have no idea what´s the problem, but I've tried going back to 7.14.2 to see if it helps. |

That could (emphasis on could!) be the problem. The old client has no support for others projects. It was developed to use only in Seti hosts as clearly stated on the readme file attached. You need to use the latest Pandora to be sure is compatible with others projects like the rest of us are running without any trouble. At least no reported problem yet. |

Since I only run Rosetta/WCG I'll see if 7.14.2 works. |

Since I only run Rosetta/WCG I'll see if 7.14.2 works. Pandora will give you better control of the Rosetta/WCG mix by avoid swarm the host cache. |

It is a GPUUG build I know it is in your case, I was just making the clarification that seeing the "7.17.0" does not in itself mean it's our client. if you're not running the latest version. you should update. I think the old versions didnt work well for projects outside of SETI Seti@Home classic workunits: 29,492 CPU time: 134,419 hours |

Using 7.14.2 now and will just use that if it solves my problem, I have no cache problem running Rosetta/WCG. |

Just got my first badge at WCG. It made me happier than I thought. It is nice to have the badges of recognition on the forums, kinda like our stars et al. here. Just popping in to say hi. |
