Thanks. I've always installed Boinc & let it run whatever projects & tasks selected on a default basis, so nice to know. I'll do that once I hit Ruby on Smash Childhood Cancer. Achieved it with Help Fight Childhood Cancer. Decades ago, used to work at the district hospital here & a group of us raised money for the G2 ward (children's ward). Made the front page of our local paper. We raised £1k. Not a lot by today's standards but a lot over 3 decades ago. Nothing more heart-breaking than seeing kids suffer. |

Seeing what you & Tom has said, I've gone back & changed mine from default to custom. Also changed most from unlimited to 20 of each. Changed ARP to 4 & SCC to unlimited, it worked. Sadly no ARP though. Set ARP, and only one more project, preferably a project that doesn't give you tasks as easy as MCM does. That seems to give the best chance to get ARP tasks. Having all projects ticked seems to lessen the chance to get the rare ARP's, since there will always be another project that have WU's. |

I love on wcg that I can not only pick the projects, but how many tasks from those projects I have on my machine. Since I wanted the African Rainfall ones, and they are very long on my machine (26 hours each), I chose only that project and said 4 max at a time. I've now cut that back to 1 max at a time, as I still have 3 of them, and I've gotten an influx of seti tasks. The settings are made for a "fiddler" like me. If the seti work dries up, I can go to 3 at a time and leave one cpu open for seti. The combo of picking projects and how many from each allows me to use my boinc cache settings for the seti project. I can keep my cache on boinc at a high number for seti, but only get a trickle from WCG. |

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my World Community Grid flexibility and specific crunching control. I am at the moment have it setup for African Rainfall and Biome immune with any other project if those run out. When I was running it under the standard default settings last week I was getting 99 and 44/100's Cancer Search. I wanted some other stuff so I went back to the custom settings. Can you give me an example of those Tom? I have all projects checked but only getting numerous MIP & MCM with very few SCC & no ARP. :-( |

Have you changed the settings in the Data Sharing to "Display my data", and if you want your stats to be exported, also the "Link my devices"? If the "Display my data" is set to "hide my data", then you are definitely anonymous. |

. . I joined the group two days ago but I do not appear in the listing. There are however 2 'anonymous' listings, I originally thought I might have been one of them because of the 24 hour provisional period, but even now I do not show up. My hosts are definitely NOT 'anonymous'. Stephen :( |

i think WCG is CPU only, dont think they have GPU apps. Yup. And the African Rain Fall project tasks routinely take 12 hours of wall clock time. Everything else takes less. BTW, no one wanna try to create AI? ;) It is VERY intermittent. CPU-only as far as I can tell. I have it running but it shows up for a couple days or a few weeks every couple of months. i think WCG is CPU only, dont think they have GPU apps.Correct but this was posted on WCG on April 2nd. We hope to integrate the GPU version into World Community Grid at some point in the future (no ETA), but the priority right now is to get the project launched as quickly as possible. |

Maybe not so bad for 460Se...I forgot that RDP blocks GPU drivers... So, will re-try after logging on local console.... PrimeGrid sends GPU tasks for it! SETI apps news We're not gonna fight them. We're gonna transcend them. |

And even GPUgrid refuses it....
This once more stresses how UNIQUE SETI@home was in their hardware support!!! SETI apps news We're not gonna fight them. We're gonna transcend them. |

OMG, and WCG refuses to use my GPU too :( 18/04/2020 14:22:28 | World Community Grid | Not requesting tasks: don't need (CPU: job cache full; NVIDIA GPU: GPUs not usable) So, where NV 460SE could be used?.... SETI apps news We're not gonna fight them. We're gonna transcend them. |
