But I do not feel the connection with either project (however worthwhile) that I have enjoyed with S@H. +1 A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

Hi, . . Hey, if this happens I might turn my 2 * GTX970 and 2 * GTX1060 rigs back on :) Those rigs have enough CPU threads to support both GPUs. :) |

16/04/2020 22:28:32 | Einstein@Home | see scheduler log messages on https://einsteinathome.org/host/11977460/logis asking for 1 second of CUDA work, but says [HOST#11977460] is looking for work from a non-preferred application Have you ticked 'Use NVidia GPU' in project preferences? |

About E@h: I think your card falls short in the available memory department. I found this old post at Einstein about minimum gpu requirements. Right now I think the current GPU-linux requirements are: Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

The trick to managing work at E@H is to set a really, really small cache. Like 0.1days. Then you basically run on a "turn one in - get one" schedule. . . I set their resource share to 0% and get one for one without changing cache settings. Stephen :) |

Well, I went to F@h and found no SETI Orphans team there ! So I created one! Team number: 262364 Welcome to join ! (they promise to give COVID19 related work for GPUs ) EDIT: but seems it would be not so easy to make it coexist with BOINC. It already took 1 CPU core... but left GPU idle :/ And no possibility to select COVID19, only cancer, parkinson and so on. SETI apps news We're not gonna fight them. We're gonna transcend them. |

Perhaps we should all set up a new team called Seti Orphans, and go invade another project.. ? :-) . . It would be an honour to follow :) Stephen :) |

Yep, so far 2020 has been hell around here. First, my favorite Cat died in January. In mid-February my 90 year old Bed-bound Dad died of something that fit all the symptoms of the Chinese virus. Of course, back then they weren't testing anyone for the Virus, especially if you had been in Hospice for over a year and Bed-bound. Then in March SETI died. I'm dreading April. The only Good thing that happened was no one in direct contact with my Dad has turned up ill...that I know of, and I'm finally receiving Social Security checks. Big changes. I suddenly have this overwhelming sense of Freedom. I'm not quite sure what to do with it yet, maybe I'll come up with a plan once all the paranoia ends. I'm perfectly healthy, and apparently have stared the evil in it's eye and held it's hand. Now if I could just find some TP in one of the stores... . . It has been a bi^&h of a year here too, drought, massive bushfires then flooding. My dad died years ago but it is a hard time to get through, and the adopted stray cat that I was feeding disappeared about the time of S@H ending. Can't say I am feeling much freedom though. But otherwise I can sympathise with the battle against the blue meanies. Stephen :( |

There's plenty of work on PrimeGrid. Give it a try. |

I have been running the Legacy version on a Linux PC. The mt version always failed. Tullio |

Added Einstein and Rosetta on Linux host with NV GPU recently. . . Yes I have E@H running on both a GTX950 and a GTX1050ti under Linux. But one is on a Core2Duo, the other is on a Core2Quad and neither is crunching on the CPU. Stephen |

Do we have SETI Orphans team there already? If not would be nice to have! There already is a Seti Orphans team @wcg! Anyone can use my shameless link to create an account with membership in team Seti Orphans: WCG team Seti Orphans Aloha, Uli |

there are linux nvidia (and AMD/ATI) GPU app available for both GW and GRP. you have to select them in your preferences on the website. . . Bingo! I had that issue too. Stephen |

I'm trying different projects, trying to find a new "home". I tried rosetta and with ya'll's help I managed to configure it the way I wanted. I got mainly covid WUs at first, then fewer and fewer covid WUs (at least that I could tell from the names), so I dumped that one. I'm trying WCG now. I love how configurable it is. I can pick which projects and how many tasks from each project. I'll join the beta testing once I get some of these tasks done. I'll move to Einstein eventually, but I'll work on covid stuff for now. |

I'm trying different projects, trying to find a new "home". If I understand it correctly on Rosetti@Home even if the task doesn't have Corona in the title it still helps the entire protein folding research process for Corona. So if you want to "help" any part of their Corona research you can run any of the tasks. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my World Community Grid flexibility and specific crunching control. I am at the moment have it setup for African Rainfall and Biome immune with any other project if those run out. When I was running it under the standard default settings last week I was getting 99 and 44/100's Cancer Search. I wanted some other stuff so I went back to the custom settings.
