It would be good if everyone from Seti does join up- it would be very interesting just to see how much processing from here ends up over there. Most of our compute performance has been from GPUs, but there are still plenty of multi-cored/ multi socket systems around. Not to mention the sheer number of regular systems that have been allocated to Seti. Grant Darwin NT |

You are most correct. People on here were talking about it, so I did it. I hope it gets huge. Dave |

I've got one more day of WUs to do of Seti, and then I'll try rosetta while they are doing covid. Thanks for setting up a group. |

Even if you have heaps of memory, you may need to adjust your computing preferences to allow BOINC to use more. Allow 1.3GB of RAM per Task you intend to run, and it needs plenty of HDD space as well. I've got 6c/12t on one system, so to avoid out of memory errors and complaints about not enough HDD space i went for Memory- When computer is in use, use at most 95 % When computer is not in use, use at most 95 % Disk- Use no more than 16 GB Leave at least 2 GB free Use no more than 60 % of total Grant Darwin NT |

Does Rosetta support Android devices? And what project currently supports OLD Android devices? (Like Android 2.xx) One of beauties of SETI project in its support almost everything that can compute... SETI apps news We're not gonna fight them. We're gonna transcend them. |

Does Rosetta support Android devices?Yes, but it needs 1.5GB min RAM per Task (Many are only 400MB, but there are some huge ones). Grant Darwin NT |

The future of BOINC Android apps is questionable now that Google has implemented new policy of only signed apps being distributed by the app store. Got notification that Vitalii and David Anderson are looking for developers to completely change how Android BOINC native executable apps are developed and packaged to make them compatible with Google's new policies. https://android-review.googlesource.com/c/platform/system/sepolicy/+/804149 https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/issues/3561 Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

So people don't need to look back up the thread to find out what "team" we are talking about. I created the team "SETI orphans" at Rosetta Feel free to join. Much of their work at present is COVAD19. We have 9 members already, Let's see how big we can make it. Dave |

Does Rosetta support Android devices? They were also excited to be announcing that they now supported ARM under Linux. Tom A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

The future of BOINC Android apps is questionable now that Google has implemented new policy of only signed apps being distributed by the app store. Ough, I thought the biggest problem is to deal with Android's feature of killing tasks in background... Thanks for info. SETI apps news We're not gonna fight them. We're gonna transcend them. |
