Possibly - it is possible to leave a single computer attached, but with a very low resource share then BOINC will check back at fairly long intervals. Then when SETI reappears you should suddenly find a few tasks heading your way. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

I was kind of hoping there might be a forum thread to subscribe to, a kind of sleeper cell that will activate when SETI awakes again. I'm also wondering if my SETI stats will disappear if I detach. I guess I'll just have to try and see. Eric |

After being away just over a year, I'm saddened to see it gone..Is there any project thats similar to this that I could try? As far as I can tell there are no directly similar projects. There are space/astronomy/physics projects (einstein@home, universe@home, milkyway@home, cosmology@home, etc) as well as several Covd19-related projects (Rosetta@Home, World Community Grid, Gpugrid?) Nothing that would catch the imagination the way Seti@Home did. Tom M A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

Do we know when Seti@home could be running once again? As has been said MANY times in various posts / topics on this message forum: Most likely NOT ever again. |

Hi Eric, I have been a member since 2001, and whilst not a power user (my first log in since your post of 3 Mar 2020) I have always wanted to participate. I have had multiple moves of house and many computers, and i think the one constant is reloading Seti@home whenever I thought of it after a move interstate or getting a new laptop or PC. This is my first post, didnt even know that this page existed, have always just loaded the screen saver and set it to work. All the best for the future, look forward to hearing of great discoveries!
