You mentioned that you are processing the current results of the project. Is there a possibility of the project starting up again by looking at a different portion of the sky?
If that is a possibility, when is a projected startup date?
And with the damage and decommissioning of the arecibo radio telescope, if the SETI program is brought back, what telescope will be used in it's place?
Thanks in advance

I just thought of S@H for unknown reason and came here to see what the current status was and was a bit surprised to see it shut down in 2020. Oh well, it is what it is. First joined S@H with Classic back in 1999 and miss the old Classic screensaver over the Boinc one anyway. Going to search and see if I could get the old classic screensaver running on my MiniPC and MacBook Pro (Win VM) just for the screensaver. Perhaps just crunching the same work over and over. Wow, 23 years. The height of S@H for me was when I use to use S@H to kind of benchmark machines back when I built dual-P3’s. Anyone still using S@H just as a screensaver? Anyone using Classic (or one developed based on it) as such? It’s be a really cool screensaver under Raspbian and other Linux-derived RPi OS’s…

Enjoy the search!

When are you SETI guys (and gals) gonna get this thing up and running again? I mean, c'mon! It's been three years! I liked seeing the data analyzed from SETI on my computer as a screensaver! It seems none of the other projects available on BOINC have that functionality.

Hello I was attempting to resume my participation to this project by reinstalling BOINC but it seems to be over now.

Since this "end" topic has been open since 2020....any news from the results you analysed????

I'm sad. French contributor for at least 15 years. I said to myself, it's weird, I don't get any more tasks. Nevermind. The goal is to find and therefore analyze the enormous mass of data collected. Good Luck. We believe in.[/b]

The continued support for Seti@home after several years of hibernation is amazing! The one thing that would alter the course of humanity is the discovery of a single from space. I would rather pay $7/month for Seti@home2.0 than Twitter/X. Who's on board with that??

The project for all intended purpose is dead. They keep the forum going for the community.

I know that SETI@home will probably never go online again, but I may have found an alternative here. Has anyone already tried this?

Hello all,

Still no news about BLIPSS from the SETI Institute...

I just found out about COSMIC SETI though, is this a well-known project ?

https://science.nrao.edu/facilities/vla/observing/cosmic-seti

It's all over the news at the moment :)

Cheers, Sam

Would this project come to Boinc? seems very similar to what we were doing with Arecibo and Green Bank Telescope data.

Will the Boinc/Seti project be reactivated?
Obviously, a lot of data accumulates in a short time, there will be something to process. Again, this project will attract a lot of people here, which would benefit the other projects as well.

You are correct about the amount of data being collected that could keep Seti@home2.0 busy. As far as I know, there is nothing in the works. All we can do is keep showing our support , keep making post and reach out to the ones involved with the various seti projects.
