My electric bill went through the floor. About $100. . . Those among us who did not choose to waste money on power bills for other projects will definitely be better off financially. :) Stephen :) |

15 more tasks to finish with 1887ish more credits and I will finish with 16,348,011ish credits. Everything I have has already been validated, except the 9 inconclusive tasks. |

I see that we have reached less than 1 million results out in the field. Meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

I see that we have reached less than 1 million results out in the field. Probably around 1-2% of them are needed to complete the last Workunits according to what Eric posted on FB last week ! |

Bye for now. I have been a member of this project since 1999. I really can't accept the lack of respect the leadership of this project shows us, the volunteer contributors. In the last years, there has been a tremendous lack of information about technical problems, and apparently nobody cares. I wish you all the best. /Henrik Schou |

Bye for now. Sorry to hear of your poor feelings about the project. I wish to stand up for the man that most of my communications regarding project operations have been with for many years. That would Dr. Eric Korpela, project director. 'Director' might be his official title on the project, but he wore many hats. He was always very responsive to me when I brought various issues to his attention, both in communication with me about them and then doing what was needed to be done to resolve them if there was anything he could possibly do about it. Since he is not one to post a lot about his daily toil, I often would pass along in this this thread his responses to let others know that 'Eric was on it'. And more often than not, things were patched up rather quickly. And many, many times this was during the evening hours and on weekends, on his own time. The man who more than any other had his kicking boots on and was ready to wrestle with the servers pretty much at our beck and call at almost any time he was available. You also have to understand that there were some decisions made that came from above him, and he most certainly did not agree with all of them. So, please believe me when I say from personal experience, that Eric most assuredly respects the contributors to this project. And he DOES care. Meow. Bye for now. Very good to see you for the duration of this part of the experiment and experience. Be very welcome. Over the years this has been quite an experience! From all the comments and enthusiasm in the forums, you should see that a lot of people very much care and have been enthused in the s@h search. See especially the comments in the news forum... The researchers at Berkeley have done a tremendous pilgrimage to keep this project running. All on near zero research funds... They now have a good sample of results spanning nearly a quarter century. Now is a good time to dedicate more of their time to work with those results rather than lose time servicing over a million users. After all, the project was for science. Our social fun is a fun aside to that. And yet, there is enough care from them to keep things running for the users. (Quite likely freely dedicating their own time to do so.) And this is a great effort and fantastic result all round already for just getting here. Who knows what the next part of s@h will bring! Stay tuned?
