Please let's just agree to differ, finish whatever work we've got (without worrying how we got it), and wish Eric and David the best of luck with their analysis, report-writing, and publishing. . . I am beginning to feel like a sycophant but again +1 ... . . It is a scientific project not a battle for RAC supremacy or whatever. We should be proud that we are doing what we can to help the research. Stephen < sigh > |

Hi Stephen, . . Cool! We will be here for quite a while longer trying to clear up all the outstanding WUs. Keep well. Stephen :) |

We should be proud that we are doing what we can to help the research. Look at your own host, make it crunch the WU's in time, and forget about the others. Ask for help if you need and be happy.

Thanks for proving my point Ian&Steve C. With that I'll leave this thread which now is full of hackers, spoofers, and cheaters, before they attempt to hack my router. well that means very little since you pretty much think even using LINUX is cheating LOL. don't forget your tinfoil hat. can you explain how one can "hack" open source software? Right guys, unlocked. Rants like yesterdays may well end up with people getting banned, or the thread locked an hidden. So try to keep it clean and tidy. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

That seems to have grown, so results are coming in.I got one this morning, to replace someone who had timed out - it's gone back already and validated, so will have reduced the 'waiting for validation' count (by two, in this case). If the waiting list has grown, that points to new replications being created but not being processed immediately. Edit - what time-stamp was your SSP display? At 7:40, it showed Results returned and awaiting validation 0 15,307 2,391,719so the replacements are being processed - must have been a temporary glitch. |

If the waiting list has grown, that points to new replications being created but not being processed immediately. I've picked up about 10 myself, and they take precedence over the few tasks I have to try and keep those numbers as low as possible. Still only sitting on 39 tasks before I'm out. Edit: Time on that SSP would have been within a few minutes of my posting that. Say...0720. Still doesn't make it accurate :) |

Sorry. Just seems the true "spirit" of Seti has been lost somewhere. Kind of disappointing Dave |

That would indicate that older tasks are being re-sent (not resented :} ) and hopefully getting cleared. Progress at last :) Stephen :) |

These will be the ones that timed out during the outage. They've probably all gone by now (but I've done an 'update all' just in case!). And didn't get any. Ah, well. |

Well the SETI servers appear to be back, but now the BOINC site is MIA ! I had just posted a message that took 20 minutes to compose which may have gone into a black hole ! I am trying to give some feedback about an Android bug if the number of tasks on the device exceeds 100 or probably 32 [Edit] BOINC server is back, and my post made it before the server went down :) I must remember to keep an offline copy when typing a long post in future ! |

look at the ready to send queue Hi Unixchick, I just tried twice and got "project has no tasks available" both times. So I guess I'll wait the 30 minutes timeout and see that they're all gone when BOINC tries again. :( Have a great day! :) Siran CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? I managed to get all my ghosts cleared. All my real machines are dry. The Raspberry cluster still has quite a lot of work. Plodding away. Days left. I think the work estimator wasn't very accurate filling a "10 day" cache. |

I managed to get all my ghosts cleared. The only one of my machines it was close on, was my old 2014 Mac mini. Anything modern was out in 2 days, but the mini has another 30 hours left. Edit: I'm curious about these ghosts, and some of indicated they believe it was in antivirus. Try looking in your quarantine directories and see if you have any files that can be restored. I highly doubt the client would allow you to process them, but it might help you reclaim disk space. |
