Hello. I installed fedora 30 (kde) install on my dual core desktop. All seems fine.
I thought I would try boinc out on the machine as well.
I did an
yum install boinc-manager.
it seem to install both manager and client (64 bit ones)

The manager displays fine but cannot connect to the client The manager does not seem to start the client.
If I start the client separately the manager still wont connect to it.
The boinc manager has most of the options greyed out

Have I missed doing something?

Check the forums for Fedora problems. Lots of people having issues connecting to the client with Fedora. This poster said installing Fedora 31 solved his issues.

So, now it seems to work!!!!!. A reboot for another reason. Then I started the boinic manager from the Icon. No client started. So I started it from the command line..... boinc_client.

Connected to it from the boinc manager and it seems to work..... no firewall change, no change to the gui_rpc_auth.cfg.

Not sure if I really fixed anything. So for now its running on Fedora 30 (64). No upgrade to fedora 31.
I have a dual slot 2 xeon machine running fedora (red hat?) 4. Yes thats version four. Dual 500mhz cpus. Doubt that will work thats for sure
