My machine https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=8343127

Answers to basic questions I can think:

- Any info in the error logs un c:\ProgramData\BOINC?
- None whatsoever

- Any errors in the Event viewer?
- None at all

- Is Activity set to 'Always'?
- Yes, including GPU and Network Communication

- Any exclusion applications that would keep BOINC from using GPU?
- None set

- Suspend GPU computing when system in use?
- Not checkmarked

- When did this start happening?
- I hadn't opened BOINC for several months. Last time, it was able to process GPU units without issue.

- What was updated on the system since that time?
- Windows 10 feature update to 1909, and I believe 2 Intel HD 630 driver updates for integrated GPU (but because of screen lag, I don't use it to process work units). The driver for the discrete Radeon Vega has not been updated since last year (only place to get it is from the Dell driver support page).

- Have you tried re-installing the GPU driver?
- Yes, to both integrated and discrete

- Have you tried enabling downloading work units for the Intel GPU?
- I have not attempted it yet, should I try?

Install the AMD GPU drivers last. Both your iGPU and AMD GPU drivers will install OpenCL, but the latter won't work correctly with the former's OpenCL driver part.

If you don't use the iGPU for anything, best disable it in the BIOS and uninstall its drivers.
Don't try to run any work on the iGPU, that'll only cost you electricity.

Edit: at the moment you're only returning errors with the AMD GPU.

Thank you for your response.

In fact, I have re-installed them in that order because that's the only way Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve video editor would start.

There's no way to turn off the iGPU in the BIOS (this is one of those hybrid iGPU and dGPU on same die kind of deals)

this is what's happening on your AMD tasks. I'd say it's probably a problem with the drivers.

Thanks for replying, so is there anywhere this error is stored locally? Or is it only sent to the servers?

I will need to dig really deep to see what is going on. May have to use the DDU GPU uninstaller utility to do a clean install of the AMD driver.

I hate that I have to keep re-installing the Radeon driver with every Intel GPU driver update for some programs to work properly.

Thanks again

Long term stored, no. Albeit, it'll probably be in the sched_request_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml file for the last task's result file you uploaded, in the BOINC Data directory. What's been pointed out is the contents of the stderr.txt (or stdout.txt) file which lives in the corresponding slots/N directory when a task is being calculated.

Running Win10 pro, you can stop Win10 from updating drivers whenever it gets the urge using the Group Policy Editor.
