i got older radeon cards. and i had a spare rx460 . it will over prev install on older cards and then make them not work. in boinc.
look at intel build listed in profile. i did recent clone the old hdd the os was running on to a ssd.

Not an AMD gpu expert at all. But I continue to see posts advising people to stay away from the latest AMD drivers. Not necessary for an older card like a RX460. That card should work with no issues on the older drivers and be immune from the current AMD Navi card problem of producing bad science results.

what i think happen is windows decide to install lates driver. after doing a bit of digging on machine.

Always a problem with Windows unless you have the Pro version with group policy set for no updates allowed.

k if i install driver for 460. it makes the 7000 series cards not work with seti.
to get 7000 series to work the driver is 15.7.1

Sounds like you are saying the newer drivers don't support the older hardware. That can be a possibility since driver support often deprecates older hardware to get the newer features of the newer hardware working. In that case, you can either run the older hardware on the older drivers or vice versa. Can't do both and you will have to make a choice.
