Trying to account for why my 24/7 cruncher "gtx 1070ti" runs only about 1/2 the speed of SOME of my wingman's 1060 over at Einstein. No good answers at their forum. I do not run windows seti so cannot verify the problem here. I run the studio as I don't play games other than P-vs-Z

Comparing the same work units I see my wingman has the phrase

FPU status flags: COND_1 PRECISION

whereas I have

FPU status flags: PRECISION

maybe that is the difference? I tried googling for that phrase but got nothing useful,.

Tried "OpenCL COND_1 precision" but it must be something unique to the Einstein app info messages.

I wouldn't think it would matter, but I guess it's possible.

have you tried changing the driver to see if you get any speed boost?

maybe it's some command line parameters for the Einstein app?

Generally the "gamer" releases are aimed at improving the performance of one or more games, while the "stdio" releases are a more stable platform rolling up a number of other issues, and may include things that assist in computational work.
