From the referenced NPR Article:

...fear Trump is succumbing to the will of the agriculture lobby that is demanding lower wages for foreign and domestic farmworkers at a time of record high unemployment in the United States.

U.S. farmers say they have had to cut back on production because of the high number of restaurant and hotel closures. Cory Lunde, a spokesman for the Western Growers Association, said U.S. farmers are fighting to keep "our farms afloat in the face of the near-total collapse of the food-service sector" and more recent slowdown in the retail market.

Lee Wicker, deputy director of the North Carolina Growers Association, said Trump administration officials are trying to look at ways to help because "they understand that we're in trouble and they want to secure the food supply for the American people."

"When a farmer goes out of business, you know, he doesn't come back," Wicker said. "Food supply is a national security issue and, as bad as this COVID-19 crisis is, perhaps it can be a catalyst to start a conversation about our agriculture policy and having sustainable agriculture and diversity."

As is usual. Many of our and other Country' "problems". Including possible assistance to help the problems. Needs a multifaceted understanding and not the political hysteria infecting many today.

But... The extreme view's of both sides are fascinating to behold.

U.S. farmers have been going out of business since Trump's "Trade War" with the world started. ;-)

Trump is about to present "Opening Up America Again".

Well Too soon if you ask anybody.
There are no quick fix.

Certainly too soon as the numbers show the US is probably nowhere near its peak.

The 15th 2,751 deaths, over 600 more than previous high on the 10th.
The 16th 4,591 deaths.

This is King Donald

Well, In Sweden it's the same. About one half who dies in COVID-19 are people living in nursing homes for the elderly.
Now how do the US report these casualties?
In several countries, the reporting of deaths in COVID-19 is mainly based on deaths that occurred in hospitals . Those who die in housing for the elderly - probably several thousand people - are often not included in the statistics.

Trump's threatened use of a never used provision in the US Constitution is very, very disturbing.

I think that the Senate Republicans realize that Trump is a sh!tshow. The Senate could fix all this in an hour or two, I believe that they are keeping that in their back pocket should Trump's real character be exposed in public and it all go sideways.
Trump is much, much worse a human than anybody realizes.

Whatever happened to that Californian teenager's individual freedom when he died because he was refused treatment for Covid-19?

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/teen-whose-death-may-be-linked-coronavirus-denied-care-not-n1170616
Nice job cherry picking............then not quoting ALL the facts. No freedoms were violated, probably some Hippocratic oaths were, but that also occurred in Italy where care was rationed instead of 'first, do no harm.'

Parris said the teen went to an urgent care March 18.

"He did not have insurance, so they did not treat him," Parris said, adding the boy was sent to a hospital.

En route, he went into cardiac arrest, according to the mayor. When the teen got to the hospital, he was revived and kept alive for six hours. But, it was too late, the mayor said.

"We've learned that once you go into respiratory issues, you have trouble breathing, you're short of breath and you have a fever, that is the time to get medical treatment without delay," Parris said.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health initially said the teen died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, but later backtracked. In a statement Tuesday, public health officials said his death will require further evaluation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Luv the way the 'News' services leave the disclaimer to the last line.

Isn't it sad that people believe that Federal laws written 200+ years ago applies to them.

Interesting point, perhaps consideration should be given to ignoring the British Monarchy and the Magna Carta...........

.....what about the law of Gravity? Or perhaps Newton's laws of motion should also be discarded as not applying to us..........

Do you believe that the application of the USA's 200+ years old belief in Individual Freedoms's is also "sad"?
YES. When an innocent individual gets shot, rushed to hospital & have her life saved, only to end up $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in debt. Where was her life, liberty & pursuit of happiness?

Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press and other Freedoms are alive and well.

More importantly, we have thrown down the fetid sewer of history, the "Old World's" evil belief that The People must be controlled. Include some European Country's Constitutional provisions regarding Freedoms that can be destroyed by a simple majority vote.

As with Europe's Right and Left's mass murdering and enslaving beliefs that people still alive remember.

All hail the Self Styled Superior [sic] Right and Left, who know better than the Inferior's and hate the People having Individual Freedoms.

Empty positions is not the problem.

Try telling that to the workers who have no leadership.

Ignoring the fact that Trump and most of his nominations so far, are not leaders.

I see Trump threatens to adjourn Congress so he can fill vacancies without Senate approval.
There's a slight problem there, he hasn't nominated anyone for most empty positions.

Empty positions is not the problem.

Under the Constitution, the president has the power to adjourn Congress “to such time as he shall think proper” when there is a disagreement between the House and Senate on when to adjourn.

Trump's threatened use of a never used provision in the US Constitution is very, very disturbing.

I'm glad to hear that you do.

In response to:

The illiberal and intolerant Left and Right have similar belief's and need's to personally attack when they are exposed.

And what is most illuminating and wonderful to behold.

Neither the Left, nor the Right, have a clue :-D

Yep, another confirmation of what I say :-D :-D :-D

What are you trying to say with your snarky response?
