AFAIK, yes
Vote counted only if they are registered as a candidate.

If this is allowed what would happen if a single write-in candidate won by a very substantial margin, say picking up over 80% of the votes (both popular and electoral college)?

That person would become POTUS
Only if the electoral college voted them in and the Senate accepted their votes.

SCOTUS has a case before it to decide if the electors are required to vote for the winner in their state or can vote for anyone they chose. The founders intended the latter.

"While it might not be popular to say in the wake of the recent social disorder, the true plight of black people has little or nothing to do with the police or what has been called "systemic racism."

Instead, we need to look at the responsibilities of those running our big cities.

Some of the most dangerous big cities are St. Louis, Detroit, Baltimore, Oakland, Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, Birmingham, Newark, Buffalo and Philadelphia. The most common characteristic of these cities is that for decades, all of them have been run by liberal Democrats.


According to Statista, this year, 172 whites and 88 blacks have died at the hands of police. To put police shootings in a bit of perspective, in Chicago alone in 2020, there have been 1,260 shootings and 256 homicides with blacks being the primary victims. Three people in Chicago have been killed by police. If one is truly concerned about black deaths, shootings by police should figure way down on one's list -- which is not to excuse bad behavior by some police officers."


It should be noted that the link furnished by 'another poster' purporting to be an action to remove Professor Williams is only an invitation to sign a petition for that action and does not indicate any action on the part of the college. And that petition was initiated SIX YEARS ago and was supported by only 440 people.

It seems that some arn't keen on having v2.0's "spread the virus rallies" where they live.

Trump accuses critics of attempting to 'Covid Shame' upcoming rally.

Hey, if he wants the virus so much give it to him, but the divide between reality and Donny's delusions is growing.

The gap between Trump's world and reality is widening. It's disturbing to watch.

WALTER WILLIAMS describes himself as a liberal libertarian. According to another poster here that is an oxymoron. I see the point. Liberal's want maximum government intrusion. Libertarian's want no government. Mr. Williams seems to be conflicted. But one thing is for certain, he isn't a centrist.

IMHO: The Democrat Party, by not taking responsibility for their incompetent governance of many of our City's and blaming everyone else for their failures.

Is what is stopping any effective attempt to fix the many problems that the Democrat Party has inflicted upon us.

Have you any hard reliable links to show how one party is any better or worse than the other for the health and wellbeing of city dwellers?

Are there any reliable links to connect a particular political party with how healthy and how good a wellbeing a city population can enjoy?

What are the real world biases in those results?



Yes, the Democrat controlled City's are "poor and impoverished"...

There is a possibility that it couldn't be worse. But all questions are still open.

Which is where we need to see some useful statistics.


Cherry picking a "top ten" or a "bottom ten" is very misleading. The real story is to see how any one place fits amongst ALL other examples.

All a game of propaganda?

What are the real world biases in those results?

The "Top Ten" or "Bottom Ten" lists are almost meaningless for considering policy and politics.

To make a start on some real world data for just one example:

Across the Board, Scores Drop in Math and Reading for U.S. Students
wrote:

There is a lot more there than pathetic partisan propaganda.

I put it down to the clash between the owner's of the industries in those cities, who are always looking to maximise profits to please greedy shareholders and bankers and the greedy unions looking to maximise wages and conditions. When the breaking point comes the owners can either up sticks and move abroad or automate and bring in robots. Either decision means the workers loose, and increased unemployment always equals increased crime. take your pick.
