Hi there, I am new to seti@home and would be glad to get your inputs. My new PC dual Xenon 4210 will have a Nvidia Quadro p2000. I wonder if I should add another Nvidia card only for Seti@home projects. Should I add another Quadro p2000 ? Perhaps it is easier to manage two same cards ? Or should I take another Nvidia which is better for Seti@home projects ? If yes, which one would you recommend to me ? I do not absolutely need a Quadro. Many thanks! |

My new PC dual Xenon 4210 will have a Nvidia Quadro p2000.For the price you pay for a Quadro, you could get an RTX card (or an older GTX card) that would outperform the Quadro P2000 by a huge margin. I'd suggest looking at GTX 1660 Super or RTX 2060 Super prices, and see how they compare with the Quadro P2000. Having multiple cards of the same type makes things easier (particularly with the Windows Seti application) when it comes to getting the most out of them, but it's not a requirement. If you have a look at this post in the Number Crunching forum, you can see which cards provide the best performance, and which ones are the most efficient. Grant Darwin NT |
