I'm just curious. When I'm in the "tasks" view in my SETI account (or Milkyway, or Einstein) I find the tasks for "valid" only go back a short ways. For instance:
SETI = Total of 79, oldest Oct 12
Milkyway = Total of 354, oldest Oct 6
Einstein = Total of 70, oldest Sept 17

How many tasks do you show as valid, and what is the oldest date shown?
George

Tasks are intended to stay visible for a project-determined interval after validation. For SETI, that interval is 24 hours, for Einstein the interval is 7 days.

Note 'after validation'. Some tasks will suffer from missing wingmates, inconclusive validations and so on. A snapshot is likely to pick up tasks which have been 'pending' for an extended period, but which have only validated within the last 24 hours. At the time of writing, my oldest task was issued on 22 Aug, returned on 24 Aug, but validated yesterday.

Thanks Richard for the simple explanation. That explains why I always have a different view of valid tasks almost every time I check them.
