10-11-2019 at 5:26 AM - PDT TBar, I don't know what's wrong with both my Systems, BUT in the last 2.5 days, I've had LOTS more "Best Pulse = 0" Results on Version 0.98b1 than on V 0.97. On the Hackintosh - ID: 7952666, (iMac 18,3), with the GTX-1070 and GTX-1050 Cards - the 1070 is getting LOTS of Invalids. On the cMP 5,1 - ID: 8508902 with GTX-970 and GTX-1050, the results aren't as bad BUT the 1050 seems to be getting some Invalids. Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance. TL [EDIT:] And, yes, I've tried "resetting" the Cards... The 1070 by turning the monitor on for a minute and then off, and the cMP 1050 by moving the DVI Cable to it for a minute and then back to the 970... To NO avail, I still am getting routine "Best Pulse = 0" Results. TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

I have a GTX 1050 I think its just going bad. I stopped using my GPU for Seti@home until I can get another one. I know that doesn't answer your question but It least you have one reply. |

For Me the Mac 0.98b1 is the same as 0.97. On my two Mac machines I reboot the system, then reconnect the monitor cable to each NV GPU until I'm back to either the dedicated NV GPU or the Intel GPU. I disable networking in the client_state.xml, copy the client_state.xml to a different directory, then start BOINC. After the first tasks are finished I check that all the GPUs are finding Pulses and if they are I resume networking and on the 5 GPU machine I put the monitor to Sleep. On the other machine the monitor is connected to the Intel GPU and is set to never Sleep. If the GPUs are Missing Pulses I Stop BOINC, replace the client_state.xml with the old copied version, reconnect the monitor cable to the GPU which is Missing Pulses, then back to the original GPU, and then start BOINC. Rinse and repeat. It usually only takes one time to have the GPUs finding All Pulses. The machine running the Intel GPU has an uptime of 40 days, the other machine just got a new GPU a few days ago so the uptime is a few days, they usually run from Power outage to Power outage. I'm running the CUDA 10.1 App in High Sierra. If you can't get it to work, reinstall Sierra and run the zi3v cuda90 App which is still almost twice as fast as the OpenCL App. |

Well, I've decided to reinstall 0.97 on the Hackintosh. I will leave the cMP on 0.98b1. Let's see what happens... May have to reinstall 0.97 on the cMP if the 1050 there acts up the way the 1070 on the Hackintosh has done. I DON'T have time to play with client_state.xml over and over... I want SET IT and FORGET IT... This is getting to be LOTS of headache for me. Thanks for the input, though. Sorry that 0.98b1 doesn't play nice with my System... 0.97 was/is more stable. TL [EDIT:] Forgot to include the CUDA Driver... (Put in next to NVIDIA Web Driver.) Install Sierra, run zi3v CUDA90. I don't have Sierra downloaded... Besides, I have other software packages that require me to be on High Sierra 10.13.6... (Blizzard ---> Battle.net App ---> StarCraft:Remastered.) High Sierra has been stable for me on everything else I run. (The earliest High Sierra I have is 10.13.3. Best that I stay on 10.13.6.) Already have some Valids on the reinstalled 0.97 on the 1070. I think I'm back where I should be... TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

[Update:] Well, the GTX-970 started having issues on the cMP 5,1. I've just reinstalled 0.97 on the cMP, now. She'll start Crunching again, tonight, at 6PM - Pacific. I don't understand why 0.98 has such issues with "Best Pulse = 0" on my two MacOS Systems... Sorry, TBar. TL [EDIT:] Command Line in app_info.xml for 0.97 includes "-unroll 5"... Some time last year, I tried removing this on the cMP, GOT Compute Errors!!! Had to put it back in. The Hackintosh; however, DID NOT have this issue, and is currently using "Autotune" with "-nobs". I'd like to get "-nobs" added to the Command Line on the cMP. Would this be the Syntax??? "<cmdline>-unroll 5, -nobs</cmdline>" (No quotes, obviously...) TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... remove the comma from your command line parameters. you only need a space between them Seti@Home classic workunits: 29,492 CPU time: 134,419 hours |

The problem is you keep trying to run the monitor from a NV GPU running the 0.9x App. You've been told that Will Not Work, numerous times. It may work for an hour, it may work for a day, but eventually one or more of the GPUs will start missing Pulses. The only way it will work is to either put the monitor to Sleep after a few minutes, or connect the monitor to a GPU Not Running the CUDA App, such as an AMD or Intel, and then set the monitor to Never Sleep. It's the only way it's going to work. I use the CUDA 10.1 App for High Sierra. |

On the cMP, the Cinema Display is connected to the 970, AND it is turned off at 5:30 PM as well. SO, NO Monitor is run while Crunching on either computer. [EDIT:] AND, as I've said SEVERAL TIMES, TOO... Crunching on my Systems goes from 6 PM to 9 AM NIGHTLY! At 9 AM the cMP is shut down until 5 or 5:30 PM, the Monitor is turned OFF to allow Crunching. At 9 AM on the Hackintosh, the Monitor is turned back ON so that I may utilize the Computer as I NEED to. V 0.97 seems to work well for me with these Parameters... 0.98b1 DOES NOT. Try Rebooting the machine, setup the GPUs as mentioned previously, then put the monitor to Sleep. Don't run the monitors for hours before Sleeping the monitor. My 5 GPU machine sits in the corner for weeks with the monitor off without any trouble. The only trouble is when it reboots, or I leave the monitor on for too long. |

My 5 GPU machine sits in the corner for weeks with the monitor off without any trouble. The only trouble is when it reboots, or I leave the monitor on for too long. The cMP IS being run as you suggest here! It is turned COMPLETELY OFF at 9:01 AM every morning. The cMP is NOT turned on again UNTIL 5 or 5:30 PM. Upon power up, the System is prepared for running BOINC, and as soon as BOINC has loaded up and ESET AV has loaded up, and ANY other Background Tasks, the Cinema Display is IMMEDIATELY turned OFF! STILL 0.98b1 CAUSED Invalids with "Best Pulse = 0" on BOTH the 970 AND the 1050 on the cMP 5,1. Don't know what else to tell you, but 0.98b1 DOES NOT work for me. [EDIT:] Only the Hackintosh runs 24/7, AND the Monitor runs ON from 9:01 AM to 5:30 PM. Since 0.97 seems to work with these Parameters, I'll stick with 0.97 on BOTH Systems. [EDIT 2:] I will say that the cMP had FEWER Invalids than the Hackintosh. Still, this is quite MADDENING! The Hackintosh is my DAILY DRIVER! It is my PRIMARY System. I SHOULD be able to run my System WITHOUT the need to, as you say, "Stick it in a corner and let it be..." TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

Reinstall Sierra, run the Old zi3v_cuda90. It's the only thing that will work for you. I run my machines from Power Outage to Power Outage, the only time my machines reboot is for a Power Outage. The only time I have problems is after a reboot, so, I don't reboot. If you continue to reboot everyday then you will continue to have problems everyday. My 'Daily Driver' has the monitor connected to the iGPU and has an uptime of 41.5 days, the other has been running with a Sleeping monitor since I last replaced a GPU 4 days ago, both of them work fine with 0.98b1. One is back up to #15. |

Reinstall Sierra, run the Old zi3v_cuda90. It's the only thing that will work for you. I DON'T HAVE SIERRA! The EARLIEST MacOS I have is El Capitan, the Earliest High Sierra is 10.13.3. My OS of choice, BECAUSE of REQUIREMENTS to have the LATEST OS in the "Series", is High Sierra 10.13.6. (Blizzard ---> Battle.net App ---> StarCraft:Remastered) So, BOTH Systems WILL be on 10.13.6 - (17G8037), with NVIDIA Web Driver 387.10.10.10.40.131, and CUDA 418.163. This means going back to V 0.97, (which works for me), which I have already done. (V 0.97 IS already working MUCH better than 0.98b1 for me.) TL [EDIT:] See Post: 2015042, I mentioned there I DON'T HAVE Sierra Downloaded. TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

BOINC/SETI provide options for all users who want to crunch. Perhaps the stock apps are the best option for the limited circumstances you have detailed. |

BOINC/SETI provide options for all users who want to crunch. Perhaps the stock apps are the best option for the limited circumstances you have detailed. Then explain why Lunatics' 0.45 Beta 6, (the last and maybe FINAL Lunatics' release), works just fine for the MASSES! See Computer ID: 7066606 <<--- Farragut, my dad's Daily Driver. This Computer is run MAYBE 2-3 Hours a day. Is on Win 10 Pro x64, ONLY Crunches on the iGPU - an HD630. AND for ALL ACCOUNTS is a TERRIBLE GPU to be Crunching on... This GPU has 0 Invalids, 0 Errors... I've stated before, that SOMEONE, ANYONE with Petri33's and TBar's level of Programming Experience SHOULD be able to come up with a "Lunatics"-like App for MacOS... I've NEVER received an answer. WAY back in the day, there WAS even a Lunatics' for Linux. I know, I used it for the SHORT time that I had that Linux System running. NO MORE!!! Lunatics' 0.45 Beta 6 is Windows ONLY... Where did the Lunatics' people disappear to??? Is the code even available for Petri33 and TBar, or anyone else, to review, modify, or possibly come up with something similar for MacOS??? Lunatics worked for THE MASSES!!! [EDIT:] I believe that the old Linux System I had was back in 2007... It was my first attempt at Linux. I found Linux cumbersome with the need for CONSTANT use of Command Line... GUI use was limited... NO "Double Click" to install something back then... Things changed, BUT Linux STILL isn't "Mainstream". STILL no unified structure/standard of "Double Click" to install ALL apps and programs. STILL the need for Command Line in Terminal to truly configure a System. NOT User Friendly for the "Average" Computer User to Install and use as a Daily Driver. It takes someone like Wiggo to convert Windows Systems over to Linux Mint for his "Masses" - AND he must TEACH those Users how to to use Linux Mint. Linux is NOT for the faint of heart. I've tried over 5 different times, three of which were flavors of Ubuntu. With Ubuntu, at least I CAN Install the System, BUT STILL CANNOT make a Daily Driver out of it.
