I donated to SETI@home through the GPU users group about 3 months ago and still don't have my donor star. What gives?

Apologies it is taking so long... usually it's over a month but not three. This is because the donations/data are manually exported to SETI@Home and then someone has to process them (also manually) and this was usually Matt but he's been on long-term assignment with BreakThrough Listen.

I'll try to remember to follow up to make sure the exports have been happening when I get home.

It looks like the donor icons are messed up currently. I never had the normal green star donor icon. I had the special project donor gpu icon. But that has gone missing from my posts. Now all I have is the green star.

[Edit] Temp glitch it appears. Now back to normal with my gpu icon. Somebody is playing in the code likely.

I have the same unresolved issue (details), which doesn't even involve a third party such as the GPU Users group. But don't hit yourself on the head over this, Mr. Kevvy ; shouldn't someone else from (the overextended?) staff have taken up the torch in the absence of Matt?  =:/

Henry and I certainly appreciate anything and everything oldschool hardcore volunteers such as you can do to help fix such problems, and my last "unacknowledged" donations (not received by setiathome.berkeley.edu but at least acknowledged and received by UC Berkeley, so all is not lost lol) being microscopic compared to what I spent over the course of the last (already?!?) 20 years in terms of equipments/energy-related costs (hell, the cats want their desktops warm and humming, and don't we want to detect that furtive e.t. technosignal before a supremacist quantum computer does, misplaced pride or not?), the real issue worrying me is the kind of message this neglect sends to newcomers (and/or the less wealthy) who have donated (or are considering to do so) more than CPU cycles to the project...

[Mr. Kevy --> Henry] Apologies it is taking so long... usually it's over a month but not three. This is because the donations/data are manually exported to SETI@Home and then someone has to process them (also manually) and this was usually Matt but he's been on long-term assignment with BreakThrough Listen.

"green stars" have been rather intermittent for some months - as far as I'm aware the script that generates them does not run automatically, but does so by a manual intervention. That aside, the script itself does appear to be "broken", in that not everyone who has a "green star", or a "flashing star", or one of the special icons appears to have theirs.

The link to the GPUUG for people who donate through that path is dependant on two people, one within the GPUUG to forward both the money and the records of who has donated to SETI@Home, then someone within the project team entering the data (probably by running a script), and then running the "show the stars" script. The complexity is needed for accountancy and probably other legal reasons.

Those that contribute directly to SETI@Home, without using GPUUG, should be faster as there is only the recording of their contribution and running the script to do.

My green star was due to disappear last Thursday, but I made an additional payment that day to keep it shining. It's been there every time I've looked.

So here's a practical question, why is yours static and that of Bob spinning? Is Bob special? More sponsor than you?

The spinning star is for the crowdfunded undergraduate project. The static one is for general donations for the baseline project budget.

Apologies, Henry... the fellow who runs gpuug.org recently had surgery for medical issues and is recuperating. I just checked the payment history from gpuug.org and it appears it's way overdue: five days short of a year. Unfortunately I have no way of reaching him except e-mail and he's offline right now.

He's planning on letting me know when he's back online. I hope in the interim that he's left backup info with someone in case can't return to these duties.
