I don't like mixing politics with research, but it seems like someone could have lobbied to prevent this man made disaster. Now for the positive, I was thinking and had an idea. Which usually occurs during thinking. Russia has extreme cold weather wind turbines with heaters in oil to keep them at operating temperatures. The winds produced from the fires might get collected with a high temperature wind turbine. It might even be useful on other planets down the road. Be sure to bury the power lines though. I make this idea free domain. Personally, I'd rather you guys shut it down or send the data off location and get to safety. Good luck and stay safe. |

Even if they are supplied by Natural Gas, there are many places where the pipeline is above ground and is susceptible to wildfire threat. They will turn off the gas and watch the gas pressure at each ground exit location. An increase in pressure at any point above normal atmospheric is an indication of a fire near the exposed pipeline. They ,ay have large underground supplies of Diesel or a pipeline feed from a depot that is not affected by fire. Only by cost of fuel used will cut that off. Motor Diesel (DF2) costs more because of the extra filtering and additives. If it is to be - it is up to me! |
