A lot of work has been completed on my computer, but the Tasks screen shows that there are many tasks that have completed and are ready to report. It looks like SetiAtHome is stuck reporting the data, but I don't know why.

My computer is running Windows 10 Enterprise, and 16GB of RAM and can access the internet.

Is this a common problem?
Would someone explain why this is happening?

There has been a problem on Sundays for a few weeks. It seems to have cleared up now and your tasks should have reported ok.

Where you will normally find any discussion of server problems so you can tell if it is you or the SETI@Home servers.

As to posting a picture, you would need to host it on a "picture site" and then paste the link between the BBCode "img" tags.

When I installed BOINC on the new computer, somehow many SetiAtHome jobs are being run (over 10). I think it's pointless to cycle back and forth between jobs (data sets).
Why not just crunch one, upload the results, then start on another?

Is there a way I can configure BOINC to only work on 1-2 data sets?

Not sure exactly what you mean as SETI@Home only does one work unit (WU) per CPU core at a time,, unless set to use less, these WU's run from start to finish and do not "cycle back and forth". So unless you set you CPU % to less that 100% on you 8 core machine you will process 8 WU's on the CPU at the same time. These tasks may take different lengths of time to process. On completion, each one is "reported" to the server as completed, then the actual results are uploaded in batches to reduce server load.

If you only want to process 1 or 2 task then you need to got into the BOINC manager, click on "options" then "computing preferences" then the "computing" tab you will see a box labelled "Use at Most XX % of the CPU's"

So to use 4 cores/tasks you would set it to 50%, for 2 tasks 25%.

Could the switch tasks parameter being set too low account for the impression of "cycle back and forth"?

Since your join date is from 1999, I suspect you are thinking Boinc works like classic Setu@home, which computed one task, uploaded, them downloaded the next. Boinc does more now, and with modern computers with multi cores, more tasks can be computed at one time.
