I have 3 different Mac computers running seti: MacBook Pro, iMac and a Mac Pro silver tower. For the past 4-5 days the tower (ID No. 7282167) had had it's full allotment of tasks completed, but will not connect to the servers to download them, and acquire new tasks. I've tried manually updating dozens of times, I get a 'communication deferred' response, and the time-out is 24 hours. When I look at the 'messages' I usually see 1: Update requested by user, followed by 2: fetching scheduler list followed by 3: Project communication failed, attempting access to reference site, followed by 4: Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. I hate to lose all the completed tasks but do I need to disconnect from the project and reconnect or...? Not sure why this machine is hanging and the others seem to be OK. Running V8 (anonymous platform cpu) on this and the MacBook (ID 6212128). Haven't made any recent changes to anything, ISP and modem are the same as always...stumped me.

I am getting the same response from my Power Mac G5 Tower (7289936), it has 12 tasks "Ready to Report".

Sorry to see you go, but do know that most answers here are done by other volunteers.
Networking problems are one of the most difficult to solve, especially when other people have no problems. But when other people have no problems, it is usually something local. You can say that nothing changed but apparently something did. In the firewall most likely. Or if you're using a VPN or a proxy, in there.
