Hi all, i just installed seti for home today since i figured that i could just as well use all that compute power for something good while im just browsing, reading the news and such.

I got a vega 56, which is a quite capable compute card and i was wondering if there was a way to auto suspend when opening a game?
Also, is there any way to limit the gpu to around 33% to keep it cool enough to not turn on the fan? i've reduced power limit to 50% in driver and undervolted the card, but it's still sitting a bit too high.

hope someone can help, so i can participate without too much hassle :)

BOINC Manager, Advanced view, Options, exclusive applications.
Make sure you Add the game's exe and not just the start up.

Not that I know of.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your reply, i look into that.

I might disable my cpu in boinc instead and run of the gpu only, since that seems a lot more efficient. It takes about 2 hours to finish a block on a cpu thread and about 10min. on the gpu.
Ofcourse the cpu is running 12 threads simultaniously, but still.

Search with Google a software Efmer TThrottle. You can set the limit temperature for GPU and CPU. The software will throttle the Boinc programs to keep that temperature.

You can get both BoincTasks and TThrottle at Fred's web site https://efmer.com/
