I'm planning on buying one of those grapic cards for Seti.

Does the 2060 super is worth the extra dollars? Versus the 2060?

You might consider the 1660ti. Same as RTX but missing RT and Tensor chips. Less power and same perforamce AFAICT.

If you not plan to use the Tensor cores (as you knos not used on SETI), and not care about a little loss in the total credit produced, you must consider the 1660Ti.

All test pointed it is the winner in production x power used.

AFAIK (I not have a 2060 super or not no confirm) the super models (at least the 2070 super i tested) is some kind of turbo charged model, yes they have more cores and produce more but uses a lot more power too.
In my tests (with the 2070 series), just leave both crunching in the host and measure the total output after few hours, was about 10-15% of more production x 15-20% more power used. YMMV as usual.

The RTX 2060 Super provides a big boost over the performance of the RTX 2060; it's around the same level as the RTX 2070 (sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less, depending on the workload).

The 1660Ti is an excellent performer, but it's well behind the RTX 2070 (which the RTX 2060 generally matches).

Hows the 1660ti compare to the 2700 super. I can buy two 1660ti for the price of one 2700 super.

And sure 2x1660Ti does a lot more work per hour than one 2070 super.

I am disappointed with the entire line. All the high performance boards use the 8 + 6 pin connectors and over 200 watts. My pair of 1070ti blowers run cool in comparison inside my Area51. I looked at an upgrade to 2080super but Newegg is out of blower and Dell has blowers at $938 but their PNY do not have USB-C. The area51 case is built for blowers and the those cheap 3 fan supers will heat the inside terrible. I took out my pair of 1070ti and put them in my Linux mining rig for the WOW event. I found a gtx670 in the attic for my area51 and will live with that until the WOW is over. The gtr670 also has 8+6 and 3 fans so I left the side open on the case..

No not true. Read some reviews. The SM counts are large in the Supers compared to the original namesake and move the performance closer to the tier above.

RTX 2060 Super 175W
RTX 2070 175W
RTX 2070 Super 215W
RTX 2080 215W

They're still on par with the models they are replacing.

Hi Elec,

I am. Beats my GTX 1050 Ti. What do you need to know?

Have a great day! :)

Hi

My team captain is running 2 x 1660ti's on the Linux Special App and sitting at just over 97K RAC give it a bit longer and be over 100K or 50K per card RAC.

Just some food for thought

Cheers

A couple of weeks ago I dropped a 1660 in alongside a 1080 - the run times are showing that the 1660 is slightly faster than the 1080.

50K RAC per card, is decent. I was expecting better, since theres been good things said about these cards.

By the looks of it, they should finally settle around 60K - 65K RAC but who knows where they will finally plateau

Cheers
