Is there a way to listen to the signal that is being processed by the SETI@home boinc software? I want to keep my speakers on, just in case there's an anomaly in the output. |

Tune a radio between stations. That static is what they are listening to. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

My radio receives aldo digital audio broadcasts, besides FM. But I get only one station. Maybe ET would use DAB? Tullio |

Go to a local garage/car-boot sale and pick up that tatty old transistor receiver nobody else wants, tune it to between stations and enjoy - that noise is exactly the sort of signal we are analysing, it sounds like noise, bu apply some signal detection and one can see patterns. As has been explained on many occasions the radio signals we are looking at are way beyond the capability of our ears to hear. A similar question I have: is there anywhere I can go to listen to radio waves from space filtered through signal detection (like the Saturn sounds you can find online)? If we've listened to distant stars, is that audio saved anywhere public? |

I was wondering around various threads and ran across a link to "Radio Jupiter" where you can hear "space signals" eg. from Jupiter. I just listened to their sample: https://radiojove.gsfc.nasa.gov/observing/sample_data.htm It seems to resemble the Sea Shore setting on my white noise box. Thanks! That's about what I was looking for. Philosophies:
