Hey guys!

Been doing this for a short bit now (New to SETI though), and was wondering if there was a way to increase GPU load. I run GPUgrid and Seti@home (as well as WCG and another) and was wondering if there was a way to increase my GPU load. My GPU is only running at about 2-10% utilization at any time and would love to try to get more umph out of my GTX 1080 Ti when I'm not gaming.

Anyone know how to do so?

Thanks for any help!

Sincerely,
Kiyometa

You can set the 1080 Ti up to use a full cpu core to support the gpu task. That will increase utilization. You can also run multiples on the card. That card should be capable of running doubles, maybe even triples.

<app_config>
  <app_version>
    <app_name>setiathome_v8</app_name>
    <avg_ncpus>1</avg_ncpus>
    <ngpus>0.5</ngpus>
  </app_version>
</app_config>

This is an example of an app_config.xml file that you could run. The ngpus parameter would run two gpu tasks concurrently on the card. A value of 0.33 would run three tasks concurrently.

he's also running the wrong app. his tasks seem to show him using the cuda42 app.

switching to SoG via the Lunatics installer will help the most.

Or run only 1 WU at a time, and make use of command line values & the Manager will eventually settle on SoG as the best application to use.
