I don't know why , but I cannot connect . Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais je ne peux plus me connecter a boinc, aidez moi, ou peut etre seti cesse d'exister ?

Server is out ? "time error"

Same issue I have...download page don't load..

Is this the Download button on the Project, Join page?
There is presently a problem with the BOINC server, which hosts the download files.

It's presently the very early hours of the morning on the US West coast. Being the weekend no-one will be at work, however once someone is up & checks their email, hopefully they can sort the problem remotely, otherwise it won't be till Monday morning before things are likely to be working again.

The BOINC server is down, it has been down since last night. The people responsible are aware of it but the person needed to restart it hasn't reacted yet to their call, or if in the mean time he did it's probably something more substantial than just a reboot, aka something broke on Isaac.

The BOINC server is still down because the person needed to fix it isn't around this weekend. It may take up till Monday before it's fixed.
It does mean that Science United is down as well.

The day before yesterday, Friday 21 June 2019, I uninstalled B.O.I.N.C., because I hadn't received any work from S.E.T.I. for several days, and I thought a reinstallation of B.O.I.N.C. would resolve the issue.

But, now, I can't access the B.O.I.N.C. web site.

What's going on?

Is the B.O.I.N.C. web site being updated or repaired?

My computer is a Hewlett-Packard laptop, operating a 64 bit Windows 10 Home Version 1903, with a Intel Core processor, at 2.30 gigahertz, 8 gigabtyes RAM, 7.86 gigabytes available, and with all current updates.

What's going on?

The BOINC server died, so the website and everything on it (download page, forums, Science United, wiki) is down. And that will stay that way until a new server is installed, perhaps tomorrow (Monday, Berkeley time).

I keep trying to download the client but am constantly hit with the below message in google. Is there another way to download?

This site can’t be reached boinc.berkeley.edu took too long to respond.
Try:

Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

No, there is no alternative reliable download source. Just wait until the server is replaced and the site available again.

Did you confirm that you can actually create a SETI@Home account, or did you use an existing account?
You appear to have one "SETI" account that was generated in July 2018, with one computer that hasn't contacted the SETI servers since 16 June 2019 and has no current tasks.

(It used to be that WCG had its own version of the BOINC user programs that were not totally compatible with "main stream" BOINC, so users creating from WCG BOINC didn't get properly merged with main-stream BOINC - I hope this has been resolved at the WCG end of the chain)

The WCG BOINC version has always been the normal BOINC version with a WCG skin and some different features such as looking up IBM.com instead of Google.com when the server cannot be found. It's probably possible to get BOINC via the GridRepublic account manager as well.

Does anyone know when or if the B.O.I.N.C. web site will be operational again?

A couple of days ago, I uninstalled B.O.I.N.C. from my computer, intending to download and reinstall it, as I was not getting any work units from S.E.T.I., and thought that might possibly resolve the issue.

But, now, the B.O.I.N.C. web site is off line and cannot be accessed.

Without B.O.I.N.C., I can't continue my work with S.E.T.I., as well as several other projects.

Gosh, gee whillikers, does anybody know what's going on at B.O.I.N.C.

I think they should have notified us that they were going to be shut down, and why, and for how long.

Now, it's all right with me that you post stuff in active threads, but could you please take the time to actually read the thread? The answers are in this thread. I even gave you a direct answer to your question the other time, but here goes again: the BOINC server, the computer on which the BOINC web site, forums, wikipedia pages, download site, Science United and a lot more live has died, which usually happens without warning.

Please read this thread. It's no use to post your questions to then never look if someone gave you an answer. It's only becoming irritating.
